20% off IMAX Melbourne & Melbourne Aquarium, 10% off Luna Park, Eureka Skydeck with Valid Myki

350

I rarely ride the City Circle Tram but had to last night to get to my destination. I noticed loads of discounts for Melbourne attractions that can be found by just showing your valid Myki card(ticketing system). I think these discount were previously obtained by getting a Myki visitors pack but seems like its now open to all Myki card holders.

Anyone carrying a myki can show it at the following City Circle partners to receive discounts

  • Eureka Skydeck - 10 per cent discount on entry

  • IMAX Melbourne - 20 per discount on entry to the film currently being advertised inside City Circle trams (Penguin movie)

  • Lightning Ridge Opals - 10 per cent discount on all products

  • Luna Park - 10 per cent discount off a single unlimited ride ticket

  • Medibank Icehouse - Free skate hire

  • National Trust - 10 per cent discount on entry to Old Melbourne Gaol and Polly Woodside

  • Melbourne Aquarium - 20 per cent discount

  • Tours on Trikes - Third person travels for free on every two hour ride

  • Zoos Victoria - 10 per cent off at the Zoo Victoria Shop.

Cool deal. Surprising how little non-tourists know about these deals. I assume you're aware of the voucher booklet inside each Melbourne Tourist Guide Magazine available everywhere, on the free City Tram, Fed Square, etc?

That has discounts for the Melbourne Star Ferris Wheel, Aquarium, Icehouse, Draculas, Old Melbourne Gaol, Sovereign Hill, Melbourne Museum - Aztec Exhibition, River Cruises, National Sports Museum, Chill On Ice Lounge, the Pancake Parlour & a few other things.

Oh and Puffing Billy - HAZAAAHHH!

      Melbourne Star Ferris Wheel

At $32 for an adult and $19 for a kid, there would have to be a big discount to get me on that. I reckon Costco next door is better entertainment value.

      • I'd play $5, but I reckon it would drive me mad. Those things are so slow with all the loading.

        • +2

Its supposed to be slow? Plus there is no loading - the wheel doesnt stop for you to get on - you have to get on while its moving (walking pace)

The problem with the wheel isnt to do with the wheel at all - the problem is there is nothing to see because its in the wrong place lol.

      • Well, the entertainment book has a BOGOF coupon for the Melbourne Star. Planning to use it sometime in summer when I can see a good sunset because the views of Docklands/Port of Melb isn't exactly gobsmacking.

All these a cheaper if you have the Entertainment Book…

    • Lol yup, I love my Entertainment Book, got the digital version this year and it rocks :)

  • i dont have a myki, i fare evade should i buy one

    • +2

You should do cost-benefit analysis, including: amount of discount, cost of myki and probability of being caught and fined for $212

      • I do the same, and i move house like every six months. Wrong address on my License for example.

Regardless, its easy to figure it out. For eg. Met Inspectors avoid trains after 4pm till 6/7 at night because of peak hour traffic.
