FREE 9 Month License for Bitdefender Internet Security 2015

1410

In association with Bitdefender, Softpedia is giving away unlimited license keys for Bitdefender Internet Security 2015.

Wrapped in a redesigned interface that makes it more intuitive than before, the application offers protection against popular forms of malware, such as viruses, Trojans, worms, rootkits, spyware and adware. It features a real-time guard to prevent infiltrations, a powerful engine to detect and remove dangerous files, anti-spam and anti-phishing, along with other security tools, such as a file shredder, browser sandbox, and a vault for storing confidential data.

If enabled, Autopilot mode runs BD with optimized settings to ensure PC protection without any help from the user. The 2015 version brings some new features to the table, such as Work, Game and Movie profiles, as well as system optimization and maintenance tools, like an autostart manager, duplicate file finder, disk defragger, and registry cleaner.

You can read all about it in our review for Bitdefender Internet Security 2015, including performance results, likes, dislikes, conclusion and ratings.

Normally, a license for Internet Security 2015 costs $59.95 / €49.95 (1 year for 1 PC). We are giving away an unlimited number of keys without any competition, so everybody wins. The license availability is 9 months. All you have to do is access this landing page and follow the instructions.

This giveaway promo expires on Saturday, July 19 at 21:00 UTC (2:00 p.m. PDT/PST).

Great deal. After using AVG and Avast (free versions) for a while, it's great to use Bitdefender. It works fantastically.

  • +9

    They don't stack, FYI.

  • OP, please put price (Free) in title.

  • +2

Awesome - I had 97 days left on a old licence and its now 270 days with the new registration code

  • +1

Does BD play nice with MBAM now?

    • Yes, but it may depend on which you install first, for me it wasn't a problem, but other people have had issues

  • Thanx op :-)

  • Awesome.

I've got about 50 days left on my previous freebie licence on Bitdefender 2014.

Does anyone know if I remove the 2014 version and install the 2015 whether I'll get 50 days + 9 months sort of like what Stilted got?

    • +1

During installation it asked me if I wanted to keep my existing products remaining days of 175 days and still use this version (2015). I selected no. Not sure what will happen if I have selected yes.

    • It doesn't seem to stack, therefore you'll only get the 9 months OR the 50 days.

  • +1

is it better than the Windows Defender?

    • +1

yes but BD uses more system resources..

      • thnx

        • A LOT better, for that matter.

Forgive my ignorance (I'm just an average user who uses MS Office, web browsing etc) but aren't we OK with basic MSE (Win7)/Windows Defender (Win8) and a bit of common sense?

I don't click spammy links. I don't download and install random software. If I don't do these things why do I need resource hogging anti-virus software installed?

        • I don't see any need to upgrade security in your case. For myself, a third party free firewall + running programs I am not certain of in SandboxIE has provided excellent protection. Over time, you develop a feel for which files are likely to be a risk. Also, viewing information about an executable helps as well (Total Commander, an excellent file manager, has some good plugins for this).

        • @Thaal Sinestro: Hi Thaal, Please share what plugins you use in Total Commander. If possible with download link
          Thanks in advance

        • @Thaal Sinestro: thanks thaal

        • No - there's been a link posted in past free antivirus threads, showing a detailed comparison and review of popular antivirii software. Windows Defender consistently rates at the bottom of the list. (And AVG and Avast are not much better.) Bitdefender consistently rates in the top 2-3. Oh - and for those concerened about it using system resources… I'm running it on one PC that's over a decade old.

        • @realfamilyman: thanks for your comments rfm. Appreciate what your saying. I suppose my lack of understanding is how am I at risk of getting a virus nowadays if I'm using the common sense approach above? I'm a bit old school so I'm sure there are new ways of spreading viruses, so if I'm not downloading and installing random software and I'm not clicking spammy links, am I safe? Will BD offer me any additional protection that I am not aware of?

After a lot of research about 6mths ago I ended up going back to the revamped FREE Comodo Internet Security Suite (used it a few years ago and found its constant alerts very annoying)

After seeing this I just did a verse search and found many preferring Comodo over BD, I'll be sticking with it for now…

Like most programs there's some suggestions out there for further tweaking it if you wish, however I've just been running it "as is" with absolutely no issues.

    • I like the Comodo irewall module but it definitely used to return lots of false negatives. People, never believe everything your security/antivirus applications tell you.

  • +1

As mentioned in previous deals, BD is very intrusive. Make sure you are happy with that before installing.

  • Thanks OP, currently have 2014 so will be checking to see what happens.

  • +6

it is very intrusive on standard settings.

However if you tinker and take off most of the automatic settings its not too intrusive..

Had to disable a lot of things too. Blocked my LAN connection preventing from accessing the internet the first time.

      • +1

Same here, had to disable "stealth mode" on the LAN connection. Not a good start

  • I have 2014, but it doesn't update to 2015.. the client remains the same.

Is there a way to get 2015 without uninstalling?

    • I tried to 'update' but it didn't work. It requires you to install the new installer from the email link.
You'll get through some steps and click uninstall for a newer product version.

      Cannot stack codes.

      • stack = extend with new sub?
I could not extend my 2014 6 month sub.
had to uninstal the old one

        • Yep. As in, I had 97 days from an older code and couldn't add that to the 270 from this.

  • What is the difference between Bitdefender "Anti-virus" and "Internet security"?

  • Thanks for this. My Trend Micro subscription is just about to expire for my PC's. Couldn't decide who I wanted to change to. I now have another 9 months to do this for :D.

  • It doesn't accept my masked email address! :(

  • I just applied the licence to my existing BD IS 2013 & worked!

  • Can we install this next week if we get the code now?

    • +3

I think that would be okay because you have already received your code…

      • Is there an expiry date at all? I managed to get 4 keys from it. Would they still be working 3 years later?

  • Does this work on a Mac

    • Are you for real? Might as well find antivirus for the ipads and iphones while you're at it :)

  • Their website menu would have to be the worst bootstrap attempt i have ever seen.

  • Didn't work on any of my 2 gmail accounts - no key.
Worked for my uni email account

    • +1

      Check the promotions tab

      • Oops, I never new that tab even existed in gmail !

Thanks a lot, yes it was there.

  • +1

Keep using these 6 or 9 month free codes whenever they are available (renew your existing one to the full 6 or 9 months) and you never have to pay for BD..

  • Thanx OP.

  • Cant get it installed on windows 8

    Help pls

  • +1

Microsoft Security essential is made by Microsoft, optimized for Windows and free.. I dont see the purpose of these third party softwares anymore, except for if you want a slower computer..

    • +1

It's not that secure.. gets low ratings now.

    • +1

It started good but doesn't protect as well as other options now. At this point Bitdefender is pretty easy to get for free with all these 6-12 month offers, so it's worth installing.

      • Thanks guys. Appreciate the info. I've been using Mac for too long, so failed to keep myself up to date.

  • +1

    this as good as Nod32?

    • Yes.

  • had 2014 ed.
    upgraded.
    uninstalled the 2014.
    upgrade worked
but still only have 75 days left of the old 2014 sub to run.

it this what no stacking means?
can i register the 2015 for 9 months or not?

    earlier comments confused me.
    some work
    some don't
    which is correct.

    I.T. beginner.

    • You have a code in your email.

On the new 2015 edition. Click on the 75 days (located bottom left corner).
Input your email code and you'll get 270 days.

  • So since uninstalling the 2014 version and installing this one, Windows automatic updates has been turning itself off every time I reboot the computer, and I get a little warning from the Action Center thing. Suggestions? I'm doing a full system scan now.

  • still working…thanks op..

    • @yokumoku not working for me I am going to the page but there is a pop up saying

"The Offer You Are Searching For Has Expired!
Discover Our Latest Offers On bitdefender.com!"

when i close the pop it is going to the home page.

      • @naruto43
