SimCity (2013) $22 + Shipping @ Mighty Ape

70

This is the lowest price for the game that I can recall. Also comes with a SimCity mouse mat

I'm not sure if EA fixed the online only part with their latest patch, but aside from that, it should be a rather good game.

Don't forget the $5 shipping fees.
(MightyApe's gone downhill IMO since they started/raised their delivery fees. Apart from the odd exceptions, $5 delivery cancels out most savings against competitors.)

    • Actually - OzGameShop has email code version for $25.
      http://www.ozgameshop.com/pc-games/simcity-game-code-by-emai…

      • I tried this one instead in the hope of getting the code quicker, 2 hours in and still no code, DOH!

First and last time I try an Australian online code site, I'll stick to the usual overseas sites or Amazon US where the code comes immediately.

        • well, I dropped them an email and their reply was nearly instant! Though they couldn't tell me when they'd send me the code, only "soon".

And why can they reply so late at night? Because they are a UK shop, despite being called "Ozgamesshop"!!

    • But MightyApe had deliver fee since I started using it 4 years ago? How long ago did MightyApe have free shipping?

      • Seems I got a little mixed up. They raised postage to $7.90 last year, but seemed to have dropped it back to $5 again now, with the option to pay extra for "express DHL".
I think it was as little as $2 when they started, but that may be my memory failing. :-p

$8 was WAY over the top and killed all savings. $5 is (a little…) better, but still usually means you're only saving a couple of bucks at most on most products.

        • It was never above $5. It was $4.90 for me to ship my Legend of Zelda Book collection (which in at around 4kgs) last year.
The $7.90 was optional postage with tracking.
Mighty Ape has always been consistent and solid. Some things are a little pricier then competition prices, but, their service is good and the prices are competitive or even for the most part.
Ozgameshop on the other hand, they have gone downhill…

The main issue I have with the game is the land is too small. Totally defeat the purpose of Sim "City", more like Sim "part of City". I used to play it everyday when it was released but always end up not having enough space and the never ending traffic jam with the largest road.

      • SimSuburb

Totally unrealistic creating huge skyscrapers on a football field :/

      • Thats why in order to do it properly, you have to work on multiple "cities" (arguably Councils) at the same time in order to have the major facilities spread out amongst the areas. I had this problem as well but once you start up a few more areas and use that to connect to each other, it makes a lot of sense that way. Its like you dont need a power station in every council as an example. Or an International airport at every council.

      • Sim Suburb?

  • Anyone know how big the game is? By that i mean download wise? If it is only 1Gb, i might as well buy from ozgameshop… but if it's too big, i might just get the game (with cd) from mighty ape…

    Cheers

  • And don't forget, despite the name, they are not located in Australia. They are in NZ, which is where your order ships from in most cases. Don't expect overnight or 2-day delivery. It took 14 days for my last order to arrive from them. Which is no problem, but they don't make it easily known they ship from outside of Australia.

So $27 with shipping from MightyApp which takes up to 14 days to deliver. On the other hand, they sell for $29 at Target with free Click & Collect option:
    http://www.target.com.au/p/simcity-pc/53716743

    • I can't say yours or anyone else's package from MightyApe will take 14 days. That was just how long my particular order took (coming from NZ).

  • US$20 on Amazon…plus you can download it instantly.

    http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-SimCity-Instant-Access…

    No free mousepad though.

  • $27 is a bit much for a game that's nearly a 1 1/2 years old now. How come Crysis 3 which came out at around the same time, and is also EA, dropped to under $20 within less than a year, but Sim City still hasn't? I played the Sim City demo (beta) and loved it, but I'll wait until it's under $20 before buying.
