  • Tried again and equally as bad. What a misleading sale, like the general Australian population will save a cent

  • Yes, after a week of $99 fares out of Australia, I don't think it's unusual that we would have been left out of today's sale. It's a bummer they didn't tell us earlier, though. Hope most of you got a good night's rest… (Flighthacker.com)

  • better than free? … or not

  • UPDATE:

Just saw a posting @ airasia's twitter…the sale for international flight starts on 12 August…….&#(@^(&!@^$ why didn't they tell us before……….

    • Good to hear! Glad I was asleep @ 2am.

    • lol, just as i predicted (above).

  • No deal

  • As all of us can see now, the Big Sale ad was and is misleading and nothing else but bullsh*t.
No flights from AU and even Asian flights aren't cheap!

And they are saying that it is better than Free?

  • bob19,
    "ïts better than free"
IT IS A SALE THATS BETTER THAN FREE

unless of course you mean from your perspective, they never suggested it was from your point of view, its certainly a sale thats better THAN FREE, for them :-)

  • Well, I think one of their previous sales was called "Free Seats" sale. Where they had the airport and admin charge as extra.
So their ad this time was better than "free seats", so I think they mean they think this sale is better than their Free Seats sale.

  • Disappointing - yes! Frustrating - yes! But let's be clear. They are damn cheap and this could still have a happy ending.

Fly Qantas if you don't want these hassles. And even then you'll get frustrated at times. They'd charge $99 to sit on one of those electic cars for 200 meters!

Roll on the next promotion (it better be good.)

  • no deal

  • deal or no deal?

  • +1

I wouldnt give up yet. In a way its better that they're holding off the international fares for 2 days. This way the servers won't overwhelmingly melt down - well, hopefully not. And maybe there won't be as much competition for the international fares from us buyers if there has been a smaller amount of promotion for it. Besides, haven't they done this type of thing (domestic only and then international) before?

    • @quackster - so they are holding International flights off for a while?? I had 4 computers on and when it struck 12am here in Perth I checked the prices and it was the same/more expensive!

To be honest, I don't see why everyone's holding grudges against Air Asia. If you are looking at domestic flights, GO LOOK ELSEWHERE. AirAsia is called AirASIA for a good reason.

      • The international sale begins on August 12th. Good luck!

  • Wow! What a great comment quackster! That makes things look a LOT better :)

  • so….question, this uncoming International sale (in I guess around 32 hours) - any more information, obviously I know there are not yet fares/routes etc discussed but my question is what is the source?
What is out there that can give one confidence that something at least will happen.
    Any links?
    ta

  • their site on the right hand side has an ad saying international sale starts 12 August.

  • so, we all going thru that again in 8 hours from now? Might get a few hours sleep now :-)
