  • $6 postage is a shame given that it would easily be sent for under $1 including the cost of the envelope. Also is engraving included in the cost of is there just an area available should people choose to get them engraved?

    • $6 is steep for a letter costing 70c.
Tags from their own website are shipped for $1.

All the community 'members' are listed publicly which means you don't need to know the ID of a particular tag to find out personal information about someone. Not good.

      • Hi roughana,

The purpose of the profile is to be publicly available in the case that you need to be contacted or your pet does get lost.

You have the ability to submit what information you wish to share in your profile. You could easily just have your vets contact information available.

Feel free to have a look at this demo profile. http://mypetpaltag.com/petprofile/?user_id=1

        Thanks,
        Mike

        • Yes, I understand, however putting up every 'member' in a list is a lot less private than requiring a code (that the user needs to find on the tag on the animal) to view.

    • Hi rekabkram,

To ensure that each customer receives their order without any issues, we have a policy of requiring our suppliers to provide tracking numbers for every order. This is for the security of both our customers and suppliers.

Keep in mind, $6 delivery is charged per order (e.g. buy 3 get charged only $6 for shipping).

This deal does not include engraving. We will retain this feedback for future deals of this nature.

      Thank you for your comment,
      Mike

These things don't necessarily need to be on an animal's collar.
Kids bags and musical instrument cases would also be good candidates.

    • +4

could be tough for your pet to carry kids bags and musical instrument cases round their necks though

in which case a name and phone number is much more widely usable by the general public than a QR code ;)

    • or train your dog to come home…

      Hi SBOB,

That is true, however, in the case you are unable to take the call or if your pet has medical conditions, your pets profile will contain information to help the person that has found your pet. :)

Keep in mind that with the engraving space you can add your pets name and a phone number.

      Thanks,
      Mike

It is legally an offense for any member of the public not to take an injured pet to the nearest vet. They can then read the animal's rf ID and notify the owner.

Pet registration also includes the council notifying the owner of any collected animal.

        • Never heard of this.. Got any proof?

      • If engraving was done with it it would be a good deal.

If you want some personalisation and you have no need for a profile that someone might check
get something like this, I got the Aussie flag background for my australian terrier.

(Not associated and not sure if that was the seller I got it from, just the cheapest)

    Just a gimmick

If you care for you pet you would have it micro-chipped and a tag with your name and phone number on it. I found a dog last week and rang its owners. I wouldn't bothered scanning a QR tag for the info.

    • The dog I found wandering this week had a tag but the phone number was restricting incoming calls…
I had to wander the streets looking for someone that recognised the dog who could tell me where it belonged. Got there in the end, but a QR tag with address details would have saved me some time.

      • Or a phone number that wasn't blocked.

Who would restrict incoming calls on their phone anyway? Someone not able to pay their phone bills

        • Someone who went overseas and didn't want to pay roaming charges?

  • I just put phone number AND address on a normal tag. That way people can drop off the dog if you are not home or not answering your phone.
