  • nice, if I remember correctly this was around $40 the last time I went to costco

  • gerber make top notch products

    • +2

I have a few Gerber items I got in US. They made decent gear but I wouldn't call it 'top notch'. Gerber stuff is made in China these days. Having said that this sounds like a great deal especially for a gift

      • Who gives torch as a gift!!!!!

        • +1

Nothing beats a $3 BG/DX/Tmart torch as a stocking stuffer

        • well that depends :P

        • haha yeah its hard to resist keeping for yourself :P i have too many

  • Damn, bought it for $20 last week. It was on $30 for awhile but couldn't resist when it was $20.

  • Membership required I assume?

  • does it need AA or AAA and how many ?
and does it have adjustable focus or not ?

    • Going by the 2 batteries, they appear to be AA, not AAA. No idea if its focusable.

      The other deal is C.

    • Both packs come with batteries. AA for the Gerber. ProTip: AAA will work in AA/C/D slot, if in a jam. Same voltage, less mileage.

Going by the terrible Gerber site, seems it's old stock/model. Excellent price. Torch-alone is $24 (50% off) on Amazon!

Torch + rechargeable. Batteries (eneloop) = happy ozbargainers

  • Edit: All good.

Is it safe to assume costco doesn't have national pricing?

    • No

      • No as in its not safe to assume so…

    • They do

    • I went to Costco Auburn and they have the Gerber set on special for 19.97

  • Got one pair for $20 yesterday.Do you guys know if they have price drop protection?

    • No, but they have lifetime refund so you can refund it and purchase it again at the lower price

Convoluted, but that's how they do things

    • They'll refund you the difference. I have had them do this for me at the refund desk on several occasions.

    • I had just asked them. You've got 30 days to claim the difference. Once. And you've got to be there. Heaps of both items available at Docklands

  • is this avail. in nsw? (I'm not a member so no clue)

    • I have seen both items in stock at Costco Auburn 2 weeks ago, though IIRC Duracell twin pack was around $20 and Gerber around $30

  • Those Duracell torches are a great deal at that price! Hell the batteries alone must be worth $10…

    • 12 pack of C duracells is $21.59 at docklands.

  • This is only for paid members, right??

    • Correct. I'll add that to the description.

  • Havent seen them at Northlakes Costco

  • I bought the Duracell torches when Costco last had them for $25.. They are great torches for the price.. Very bright and have a good spill when unfocused and a great throw when focused..

No torches left at Ringwood, around 15 Gerber sets left.

    • +1

A lot more than 15 when I was there at 5:30pm yesterday.

      • And still shitload there Saturday morning.

  • +2

Plenty of torches and Gerber sets left at Docklands.

got 2 gerbers and 1 pack of torches 3 hours ago - about 10 gerbers and plenty of torches left at docklands

it's located in right isle, 3rd from the back, closer to the wall.

  • Awww pooo! Qld has none, and none coming I was told. I wanted a couple of the Gerbers and 1 durabeam set.

  • Plenty (hundreds) of Gerber at Docklands today. No Duracell torch left though.

  • No Duracell at Canberra. But plenty of Gerber!

  • 4 boxes (8 per box) of the Duracell torches at docklands. And about 12 boxes of the gerbers. Monday 14th.

The Gerber offer is still on. I had it in my cart but then I noticed the sticker indicating that it contained lead/phthalates and to ensure you washed your hands after use. Seeing as I would mainly used this camping and barbequing this wasn't really suitable for me. Sadly, I didn't think to snap a photo of the warning.

    • I think that's almost worthy of a neg vote for the deal! :)

      Health hazards aren't bargains?
