Free $10 Audible Audiobook Credit

790

Basically the same deal as before but from Budget this time - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/142053

While the terms stated only for US customers, it worked fine on an Australian audible.com account, coupon expires 60 days after date of issue.

If you're not enrolled in a membership, add an audiobook from Amazon to get slightly discounted pricing. There's a few that were more expensive so compare with a different browser or private tab/window.

Make sure you also look at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151989 for three months priced at $2

If you don't have an existing account then Scaregdearimasu suggestion to claim 2 free books, cancel and then take up three months at $2 each isn't bad if you are happy to drop $6 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151989#comment-2103122. If people don't want to pay and have no previous account, the two free books he links to can still be redeemed before applying this $10.

    • So if I follow through with this, I get 2 free books, plus $6 for 6 free credits (2 free per month), giving me a total of 8 audiobooks for $6?

      • +2

        No it'll be 5

        a) Sign up for 2 free months and get 2 credits immediately (the linked offer puts you on the premium plan that has 2 books a month).
        b) Claim 2 books
        c) Cancel your membership (you will lose outstanding credits, but not any redeemed books)
        d) Register again with the 3 months at $2. You will immediately get 1 credit. For this offer you need to remain subscribed for three months to get all three credits (this plan is the standard 1 book a month plan)
        e) Claim this $10

Optionally f) Cancel your subscription after 3 months

So all up for $6 you'd get 5 credits which is good for 5 books, and $10 credit which may cover the entire cost of a book depending what one you claim (note you get discounts on books when you are a member, so it's probably best to spend this before you cancel).

What I'm not sure about is whether the $10 credit can go towards paying for the $6 membership fees you would incur if you applied it before taking up the 3 months at $2 offer, or whether they are two separate things.

  • Worked for me. Thank you.

  • Sweet! Thanks

  • What do you mean by "There's a few that were more expensive so compare with a different browser or private tab/window"? Does the price of an audible book vary depending on the browser/private tab used?

    • +1

If you're not a plan, the audible price varies whether you buy it directly or via Amazon.

For example Ender's Game is $11.95 via Amazon and $19.95 if bought directly from Audible -
      http://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/Enders-Game-Alive-T…
      http://www.amazon.com/Enders-Game-Alive-Full-Audioplay/dp/B0…

Most titles are cheaper via Amazon but there were a few cheaper directly through Audible. Once you add one audiobook through Amazon, Audible will show different prices, so you need to use another browser or private tab/window to check the price if bought directly from Audible.

      • Can work the other way round too. Mockingjay is $14.95 membership price via Amazon but on the Audible website membership price is $13.71.

  • Using the link, how do you redeem it for .com.au site?

it only takes me the the .com (US) site.

It worked for my US audible account but I have transferred my stuff to the AU site.

When I previously transferred to AU site all my previously purchased books disappeared and they had to provide me with credit.

edit: I called their customer service and they transferred it over. Amazon phone support have always seemed quite good.

  • Thank you very much. It works US audible.

  • A $10.00 coupon has been placed in your account. Use it on your next audiobook purchase from Audible before 09-07-2014.

Isn't that today? Or … US date format?

    • +1

as description says '60 days after date of issue', i'm assuming US format

  • Went to my audible.com account but now I have moved to audible.com.au the credit has gone!

  • Expired.
