Your email is in the link..

  • So this is at all locations across Australia.

    • Looks like it is everywhere. I just saw it on their facebook page.

I'm tempted to dance at how good this deal makes me feel.

  • Hmmm…any chance I can register and get the card today?

    Found the answer:

Just grab a card from any Salsa’s store and swipe the card during every Salsa’s transaction. You can start earning points, but to start spending your points you’ll need to register your card.

  • Has anyone received their $5 survey points credited to their account yet? Mine aren't showing online :(

    • Yes, takes max one week.

      • Good news, thanks

    • Did the survey last week and just paid with them.

  • I dont have a mex card, can I still get the deal free?

    • no

      • bokhor go

  • The gluggy bread and the densely packed in rice puts me off these burritos. So want to like them, but end up just picking the meat out…

    • Same here, I find the taco's are much nicer, lots of meat without the rice and only $2.5 on Tuesday.

      • If only stores were open late on Tuesdays, a few $2.50 taco's would make awesome dinner, but no… they close at 5:30pm. (stores near me anyhow/most probably because they are just in mall food court, no stand alone venues)

      • Those tacos are what keeps me coming back on Tuesday's. They had them for $2 for a while too. 1 of those as a meal is enough I find….oh those fries and that chilli mayo…yummy! :)

        • They've been back to $2 for a while.

  • Salsa's by far has the best burritos on a money vs satisfaction graph.
the other companies (mad mex, zambrero, guzman) are around 12+
Love how the chicken ones are only 9$ and still taste fantastic!

    • I like Zambrero more for taste (their slow cooked meats are awesome).
But yes, they're a bit more expensive.
Salsa's is still delicious as well!

    • I normally go to GYG so was interested to try this deal, it was ok although the "Wagyu" was tough. Good deal for $5 but it wont be tempting me away from GYG…

      • I still need to try GYG. How does it compare to the others?

        • I have never tried Zambrero, and I also like Mad Mex but GYG is closer so it wins. I recommend GYG's pork chipotle.

    • Salsa's is fine if you don't mind inauthentic flavours - i.e. Subway in a tortilla.

Mad Mex and Zambrero's are the most authentic flavours, GyG is also good, though a bit cheesy/glutinous for my liking.

$5 for a burrito is still good, mind.

  • I lost my card, how do I get a new one with my points on it still?

Edit - Just read the T&C

Go to store, get a card, time travel back at least a week, register it, fill out survey to get $5, travel back to today, go back to store, buy with survey money to save $5 ;-)

Why are these deals getting so complex?

    • That's what the fox said.

    • It'll cost more than $5 to refuel the DeLorean DMC-12.
And then there's the possible paradox of me meeting myself from a future OzBargain Salsas deal!

      • +1

That awkward moment where your past self purchases the $5 burrito you went back in time for…

  • It is too complex.

Just ordered 2 at Collins square store. 3 pieces of meat in each one. Stitch up of the century. There's no way they'd give that if I spent $12 on one.

    • +4

Me too. Five bucks for a rice and salad burrito with three chunks of "wagyu".

      Boo-urns

      • +3

        I was saying wag-boo…

Thanks for the review, saved me a trip and $5

My co-worker and I eat from Salsa's regularly. He had one of these the other day and was thoroughly disappointed with it.

  • Just ordered from Camberwell, normal price is 12.95. plenty of meat, good deal

  • Just got back from Brisbane Myer centre CBD, one of the guy told the other that they only had 20 left. Not sure though if they are cooking more. Plenty of meat.

  • I've had a few burito's around but the best burito I've had so far has been from mad mex.

This is how I order it:
    Chicken
    Rice (no beans)
    fresh tomato
    cheese
    hot salsa
    Sour cream
    jalepeno

Not sure if it's just my local store but the chicken is amazing.

    No haterino

Mine was alright. Plenty of meat. Wagyu is a big call though. Meat did not look or taste very marbled. Looked like plain old grass fed sirloin to me.

    • +1

Was yours tough? Mine was pretty chewy, wouldn't have said it was sirloin :(

  • Got one at lunch time, it was ok and would pay $5 for it, but wouldn't recommend it for the regular $12 price… I do enjoy (and often get) the Chicken Burritos though.

  • +2

Had one from Perth CBD and it was OK. Reasonable amount of meat in mine but it was extremly chewy, flavor a bit lacking. Prefer the chicken burritos or the burritos from Mad Mex to be honest. Not bad for $5 but certainly wouldn't pay $13

  • +3

Just finished mine, full of meat. Several mouthfuls were mostly meat. No way I'd ever pay $13 tho!

  • +2

Same conclusion as everyone else - decent amount of meat, but terrible quality.. Chewy, fatty, pretty average quality steak - let alone wagyu.
