Just a heads up for anyone considering, there's a new model coming out this year.

    • Thanks, I was about to buy a 550GW.
For those looking for official local stock, cheapest is $425 plus $10 freight - http://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/shop/dual-camera/blackvue-dr…

    • Thanks. Interesting. Have been eyeing one and have been meaning to buy one.. Might just wait a bit longer now..

Interesting that it still only supports 64gb sd cards..

      • I have found that most devices that support SD XC will work with far more than 64GB, even if they say 64GB is the limit.

        • officially only 16GB and 32GB are supported. You can reformat a 64/128GB card. I'm currently using a 64GB with a DR550GW and it's working great.

    • I'm finding it difficult to tell if the new models actually are replacement for this one though ( the front/back 2 channel) or just the 'standard' one - the number system seems inconsistent.

      • If not a complete replacement (older models discontinued) then at the very least they are an upgrade.

” The Blackvue DR600GW , DR650GW both have GPS built in and are a improvement on the DR500GW, DR550GW-2CH. “

I doubt they will continue with the 500 & 550, would make little sense.

        • Should I just buy the DR550GW or wait for the new 2014 range?

        • Only you can answer that. personally I'm waiting

        • BlackVue DR650 in August some time, prices not set yet.

  • Now you have peaked my interest… Might be time to look at replacing my trusty dr400g-hd. Would be nice to be able to use a 64gb card. Prices are a bummer though… Only paid $180 for the 400g about 3 years ago.

    • Just wondering, why such a large card?

      • Infringement notices can take up to 4 weeks… So it would be nice to have footage on hand for the same period… Currently 32gb is 2 weeks with my diving habits

  • if buying the Korean model with English voice I got mine from this website and they do good offers if you message them too

Took me a few minutes to realize what this thing is. I thought it was an E-cigarette and you were all losers.

    • I only purchase Blackvue ecigs that include 16gb SD cards from dashcamsonline……..

  • Wow that is cheap. Bought mine DR550 from Camzilla, with local warranty.

  • Is there an upgrade to the DR500's firmware?
