Chemtech CT18 Superwash 5L only $9.99 (65% off save $22) @ Repco

70

Great price for a good car/truck wash.

Ideal for getting grime and bugs off cars with little effort.

Note that this will take the wax off you car if you wax it, usually I use it before waxing my good car or before using a wash and wax on my everyday car to make things easier.

Also if you dont have a pressure washer you can use one of these to apply it to the car:

(about $17 delivered from eBay or probably other models at hardware/garden shops for $5)

I bought 3 bottles about 6 months ago and still have 1 and a half left from the previos deal, but I'll be buying another few just to stock up.

  • No limits this time?

    • It doesn't mention limits in the catalog unlike last time.

  • I agree with the op that this makes a good pre-wash to help remove wax but the wash itself will not remove all wax. Clay or a clay mitt will be needed to get the remaining off

A wash and wax however should not replace a decidacated wax or sealant. Lucky to get 1 or 2 weeks protection out of a wash and wax. The rain alone will remove it. After that your cars clear coat is exposed to the elements until you next wash it.

A decent spray wax like optimum or durations with provide a couple of months of protection. Only takes 10mins to apply. A little goes a long way too. If you use 100ml of Optimum to wax a car then you have used too much on my opinion.

Save the wash and wax for a booster when getting closer to needing rewaxed or after polishing if you run out of time to wax that day or simply as an everyday maintained because you like the finish it leaves.

    • A bit off topic but I have a question for you: do spray waxes such as optimum last longer than paste waxes such as Meguirs tech wax 2.0??

      • I myself have never used Meguiars tech wax but spend a lot of time on detailing forums and playing around with different products so I can't make any personal opinions on the Megs. However, whenever spray waxes come up Optimum Car Wax (OCW) is also mentioned and a favourite. The Megs rarely gets a mention despite its wide availability.

I have never previously read this thread before but one fells gives some of his insights - http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/car-detailing-forums/…

OCW is claimed to have up to 5 months protection. I personally have seen 3 months and reapplied. It was still going strong. Durability will vary depending on climate. The product is so easy to apply I normally spray wax after every second wash. Out of all my detailing gear OCW is my personal favourite and most recommended

        • I went to check out OCW online and found this;

Car Care Products / Optimum / Exterior / Wax - Spray / Spray Car Wax
"Currently Optimum Car Wax is no longer available – we would suggest Duragloss Aquawax as a quality substitute, that lasts even longer."

          any comment?

        • that was a good read , thanks
basically he is saying the meguiars wax is crap and that optimum beats it hands down.

  • They are both good. Both best in the spray wax department. ZAS stock OCW.
