Energy Australia bill payment through AusPost PayWave (Credit card)

Hi Guys,
I have big bill to pay to Energy Australia and I can do part payment.
Planning to pay it through ING but AusPost in SA won't accept paywave (or credit card)for Energy Australia bill.
I have tried few post office but wasn't successful.

Can someone suggest if successful - how and where it worked?

  • Can't help but if you supPORT either the Port Adelaide Power or Magpies, you can get a 12% discount off electricity and 12% off gas. You don't need to show any proof of membership or fan'ness. I guess a Crows supporter could sign up for it. Energy Aust. power plan. Valid for new customers and original customers

  • I am already getting 12% off from Energy Australia. It is to Maximise ING

  • You normally can not pay bills at a po with a cc. Try over the phone?

    • That may add a CC surcharge

  • I'm no longer with Energy Australia but with Red Energy and are able to pay wave my bill at Sydney Martin Place PO. All they ask if what payment method I want and I say by Visa.

I am able to pay any bills that state that I can pay by credit card at aupost (that info is normally near the bill barcode) there.

Successfully paid my council rates, telephone bill, gas and electricity bills there

Ps. If it's a fairly large bill spread the payments of <$100 each day over a few days to ensure no nasty calls from ING.

  • No, EA bill doesn't state that. Bugger. So I assume that I can't pay through ING. Will wait until Citi Balance transfer promo finish and then pay from that one.

  • Does this still work—i.e. paywave on EA bill?

    • I think usually you can,I've done it for car insurance and it works fine (Just Car).
Also it may depend on whether the company will accept part payment (I've found many do), if the bill is over $100.
Edit: sorry didnt realise you were asking specifically about EA. Can't comment specifically about them. Might as well just try it.
Edit 2: To pay at the post office, it must say on the bill that it is able to be paid via "Post Bill Pay'.

      Andyman's comment is all correct.
