  • Handy with a lot of blockbusters out soon

    • -4

Who would want to watch Blockbusters? You know you can go to Kino Cinemas with Optus Tickets? Go see an actual good movie.

  • +29

Just some advice. If you plan on buying multiple tickets, purchase them separately, as it is only one popcorn voucher per transaction. At least thats how it was last time they had this offer

    • +4

I've added this in the post. Cheers Mate.

  • Damn, Hoyts only.

    • Telstra Village/Event deal is perm. Not as good, but still decent.

Can anyone confirm if I can by tickets for Saturday 5.00 pm show? As condition says not valid after 5.00 pm!

    • -3

You buy vouchers, for any session, excluding those in the conditions. So no, you can't use them after 5pm on Saturday.

      • does this mean if you buy them for a 4pm session you have to walk out after 1 hour?

        • +3

          Yes, otherwise you are murdered

        • WHY YOU GOT TO BE SO DARK BRO?

  • Anyone know how long the tickets are valid? I was going to buy a hoyts book thing $100 for 10 tix but might bulk buy these

    • 3 months - 30th September if bought this month, from the looks of things. Pop Corn voucher expires 31 Oct '14, so that's 4 months :).

  • Damn i can't register as i dont have an optus number anymore.

And before anyone suggests, those $2 SIMs don't work anymore, they've caught onto it.

    • I got a $2 sim, and i could register, no issue

      • Did you load any credit on it?

The problem is that the $2 SIM expires after 7 days if you don't load credit on.
The Yes Rewards site says new numbers take at least 7 days to be able to be 'registered'.

So that was the problem, my number expired before it could be registered.

        • +4

I used my numbers from 10 years ago. It works.

Then they caught me on it and I couldn't login anymore. I just created a new login with essentially the same number, just different email. Ha!

        • Doesnt work on me :(

    • Why can't the $2 sims work?
Does this mean only Postpaid customers get this?

      • I've done this with Telstra rewards for almost a year now. Keeps me loyal :P

another tip : dont pay by paypal if you want the tickets instantly. their paypal system is screwed up and is processed manually during business hours

    • +1

just did by paypal and got both vouchers instantly !

    • +1

paid by paypal, got both voucher within 1 min

Remember that Chadstone Hoyts is closed. Closest one is probably Forest Hill or CBD.

    • whaat ?? since when?
I was at Chadstone on Tuesday and pretty sure it was still there.

      • +6

they will close from today until 2016 for renovation :(

        • +7

2 years and they're still calling it "renovations"? What bullshit…

      • +2

Since Wednesday, Tuesday was the last day.
They were also selling $2 Hoyts reward cards.

    • Damn, that was the closest one for me too, only 10 mins away.

at least the other is in melbourne central.

  • So good! Thanks OP

Plus booking fee and you have to pick sessions.. Bit lame compared to Optus's offering.

      • +1

Wrong! No booking fees for Telstra tickets either.

        • Well I went to grab some a month ago and the pass through to Village was adding a booking fee…

      • Lame to write LIES!!!

  • Do they email the popcorn vouchers separately? I haven't received anything yet.

    edit: Just got it!

    • Do the popcorn vouchers have an expiry?

      • the popcorn itself certainly doesn't, in my experience :)

  • I wish they would introduce sweet popcorn. Tried Garrett's popcorn and was hooked ever since.

    • -1

Many parts of the world have both, but salty is always out of stock… like its hard to make.

It's' cos the locals all have sweeteeth.

      Gross!

      • Yeah, I like the sweet popcorn too. But good alternative now that Coles and Woolies selling the sweet and salty popcorns.

  • Great, thanks!

  • +1

Popcorn vouchers expire 31/10/14, yet the movie vouchers expire 30/09/14…

  • +1

Let me see.. Transformers, Transformers, Dawn of Planet of the Apes, Guardians of the Galaxy, TMNT

    10 tickets and popcorns please!

    • advice: - consider IMAX for some of these movies if you are within 100km of IMAX!

  • Are child ticket $10 too?

    • Valid for Concession or Adult i assume.

  • Great deal!

Hmm looks like telstra upped their price from $10 to $11??

  • +2

Thanks OP. Despite being with Optus for years and participating in these deals before they never email me with new offers. Weird they must be the only company to not spam me constantly (and I wouldnt mind their spam if it were good deals like these).

  • I just bought two tickets and just got 1 popcorn voucher. So if you want to get multiple popcorn vouchers, you will need to buy 1 ticket per transaction.

Edit: Just saw the OP comment. Damn it too late. Luckily I only bought 2.

  • Are the popcorn vouchers unique? I've got movie tix from collecting coke labels so don't need to buy, but would be nice to have popcorn to go with them.

    • Yes they are unique. Comes in similar format to the movie ticket.

  • So Optus resellers (LC/Vaya) won't work?

    • Not anymore. Theyve also caught onto that. I've used my Vaya sim to get a couple in the past but this time, I got hit with a login error saying I wasn't eligible anymore.
Probably time to get a $2 sim

      • So I need to keep the SIM active for 7days (which involves recharging) long enough for the number to register?

  • bought 2 separate vouchers…e-mails received but no attachments…..
am i missing something? I've read e-mails twice but it says find attachment where there is none….did any of u had issue

    • I could be wrong, but I think the vouchers come afterwards iirc. Check your email again?

    • Check your spam folder, it comes in separately.

      • No….not in the spam. As a matter of fact I've received the e-mail saying find your vouchers but no attachment…I've e-mailed as it's the only way you can communicate…

        • I have purchased a few of these. Just checked them all and the voucher is at the bottom of the email as a pdf. Separate emails for receipt, popcorn voucher, movie ticket voucher and paypal receipt (so 4 emails in total for each purchase).

        • sorted…..got them to e-mail me vouchers again….
