  • Any tips on how to get a US billing address?

    • +2

Just look up a phone book, or google.

Look for a State that doesn't have sales tax, then pick an address. I usually pick a popular hotel.

  • Damn, I was waiting like you and just took the plunge on Saturday.

    Good price though.

  • If i wasnt paid up until 2016 i would be all over this!

  • So what's better? US Psn account? or AUS Psn account?

    • US PSN hands down. the free games are not too shabby and sometimes lag the EU/AU accounts but the discounts are pretty amazing (20-30% more than the non-Plus discounts, compared to EU/AU's additional 10%). Discounted items get cycled almost weekly so there's a bit of value.

oh yeah, not to mention the AU Plus subscription is much more expensive.

      • better sales too…

    • Side by side comparison of the "free" Instant Game Collection games.

Aus was better, but they are becoming more and more similar.

      US has better discounts/sales.

    • US has better sales, especially with Plus. AU gets hit with mostly-crappy EU discounts plus Australia tax. E.g., Tales of Symphonia was on sale for US$10 vs AUD $22.

US PSN also sells NTSC versions of PSOne games, which generally have higher refresh rates (smoother and faster) than the PAL versions.

EU has better exclusive Plus games: Muramasa, Guacamelee, MGR, Far Cry 3, Okami, Mass Effect 3 to name a few.

  • got PSN until christmas time… wondering if I should bite at this, or wait for black friday specials at the end of the year

    • Same here, im thinkin black friday sales again

    • Wait unless you are due to run out in the meantime.

  • This had me a tad interested, but given my PS Vita is linked with my Aussie PSN account I won't be able to switch it and make use of the subscription so I'm going to pass.

I was actually thinking it may be worthwhile subscribing this morning as I want my Spelunky saves to cross-save.

Darn region limiting system for the handheld! Otherwise I'd probably have grabbed it.

Does Aussie PS+ ever go on sale? It's over $70pa isn't it?! Big difference…

Yea, there have been 20-25% off sales before.
They also have a promotion which gives + 3 months for a 1 year sub.

If you use various gift cards/discounts to buy PSN cards, that's another 5-20% off

    • +1

If you have an extra vita memory card you can use both. It's a bit annoying but it does work.

      • Sorry mate - tried to vote up your comment for being helpful too but accidentally hit the negative button as I'm on the iPad. Managed to revoke it but now won't let me vote again. Thanks for commenting.

yeah got one last year for I think 25$. haven't even touched any of the games :S

  • Got mine for $30 USD a few months ago (a deal on Ozbargain, something banana.com) and swapped from AU to US on my devices.

I like the US sales more than the EU/AU and it seems like digital games are just cheaper on US.

  • Still got mine stacked up till 2018 from banana
Hopefully their business still running by that time, otherwise I will look like an idiot haha

    • can't find any mention of this banana. do you have a link? would like to have a look so i know what/who they are in case they have something come up in the future

  • Will this stack on to the end of my current US PS+ subscription? Mine doesn't run out till August.

    • yes it will.

  • Has US PS+ improved? The EU/AU version has always been the better of the 2.

  • my current US psn if expired and if i bought two of these and registered one after another it'll expire in 2016?

    • Yes, they stack

  • So I have just bought a PS3 and have an AU PSN account called "Motordom", if I create a US PSN account under a different profile and buy games etc (and PS PLUS) I can than switch back to my AU account to play them right?

Also if I got a PS4, I would have to buy PS Plus for my AU account to play online, or use my US account right?

    • You can play with your Aus account.
You only need one PS+ account per PS4 to play online.

      So yes to both.
