A 6300 is laughable. You want an i5 minimum, if not an i7 and a 290 or 780. Look at Watch Dogs as an example.

  • I agree with ethereal here, a 6300 is a bad choice, it's IPC is just rubbish and it's seriously outdated.

    Anyway, my suggestion would be:

Save a bit by shopping around, you can buy stuff like the SSD from the US.

  • Maybe check out the "Gaming/Multi-Purpose Configurations" recommendations here:

    http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs_gaming_conf…

They list "what is considered to be the best value" based on "price and performance"

I've always found their recommendations to be very helpful even as a starting point.

  • With a budget of $1.4K it makes more sense to buy a Core i5.

The FX6300 is a good CPU for low budget rigs, but when you throw in a $300 dollar graphics card it struggles to catch up.

  • Its not worth buying an AMD CPU with 6 cores..

Either get intel 4 cores or get AMD 8 cores.
