  • PS4 version is back up again for those who've missed - just grabbed one!

    • With the code though?

      • +2

used tenoff - came to 57.60 - not bad still

      • -1

I just ordered the PS4 copy and the code didn't work.

  • It's not working for me. When I enter the 'Welcome' code, I get "The Promotional Voucher or Code you entered was incorrect, no longer valid or did not meet the required conditions. Please try again."

The fine print on the voucher excludes interactive games, but why does it work for some people?

    • Use "tenoff"

      • Thanks! Still a great price :D

  • Been in and out of stock about 10 times now. Wondering if people have used the pick and collect option and if the wait really is 4-10days? Was told a week but someone above said they were told a couple of days :-(

    • +1

Going by my previous experience with Target's Click & Collect, it will take about 7-10 days after they post it out to the store. That of course depends where your Target store is located. I'm in Perth so packages generally take that long to come from east to west.

      • Same here. I pre-ordered GTA5 via click and collect. After a week of follow up, they allocated an in-store copy because the click and collect version hadn't arrived. I'd avoid Target click and collect.

    • I went into Target today and they told me the same thing. 4-10 working days. argghhh

  • +1

Great deal if you got the "welcome" coupon and don't mind waiting but if you're eager to get this today…. I wouldn't recommend it.

Had to use the "tenoff" coupon as the welcome one was expired so ended up being $57.
Went in to collect from my nearest store here near work (Perth CBD) and they said it would take 5-7 business days from their distributor in Geelong… not sure if there are other Target's in or around Perth with it in stock.

So, I went across the road to JbHifi and the best price they could do was $64 so I went with that and I'll try get a refund from Target.

So, $7 more but I have the game in my hand.

I got turned away from Target in Carousel, WA. The lady said it would take 5-7 business days from Geelong.

I'd do the same as Deviner.

      • Same at Broadmeadows Target.

  • what about if i opt to pay $9 for delivery? is that fast??

  • What is it with this game and the heavy discounts ? Anyone played it yet ? Comments? I'm getting my copy tomorrow from dick Smith.

    • Its pretty good, except the driving is a bit clunky and boring, it just doesn't have that solid GTA feeling

    • (disclaimer; I haven't played it and have no real interest in it)
Reviews have been so-so. The driving mechanics has been often criticised and the main character is hard to like. The game itself probably suffers from over-hype; more than could be delivered was expected. 7 or 8/10 seems common.

      Here's one to read
      http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-27-watch-dogs-reviā€¦

In summary; average, not bad yet nothing that stands out either.

In regards to heavy discounts, it seems that game prices for new releases have been reduced in general (except for EBGames who cling to the old $100+). ~$75 seems to be the new release day RRP for PS4/XboxOne and with the store's competitiveness reducing that to $65. Add these store promo discounts and we end up the winner. Current gen has been the first time that I have found it cheaper to buy local than import.

      • Current gen has been the first time that I have found it cheaper to buy local than import.

After all the hullabaloo with the PS4 going region free… then the Xbox matching it, it looks like we never needed it after all!

  • Anyone else having problems redeeming the code?

  • use code tenoff

    • yeah, tried too but it sold it while I was ordering. Balls.

  • Sold out again.

  • all platforms appear to have been removed from the online store for the moment ('SKU not found')

  • Am I mistaking something, or did they add 'excludes interactive games' to the Welcome front page?

    • Seems a bit that way. I didn't see it before hand, but it's strange that it worked, then suddenly didn't work.

  • I just got the new Target "Play" catalog which starts on May 29th and it's got Watch_Dogs priced at $74 for PS4/XB1 and $69 for other platforms.

I guess that's why the EB Games I pre-ordered at refused to match the $64 last night. But, they wouldn't match Big W or DSE either even though I had the catalogs in my hand. They all said it was a pricing error and the lowest they could go was $74. Another EB Games store was more than happy to match the $64 (so I had it at midnight).

Good luck to those getting it for $54 or even $64… be quick as it looks like the price might go up a lil!

    • That's quite normal as $64 price is considered a "introductory price" where normally the following week, price goes up $10.

  • I think according to the order tracking in "my account" on the target website mine is on its way to my local store as it says "invoiced" and now has a track link.

    • What store?

      • Bendigo

        • Ah okay, thanks for that. You guys will be some of the first to collect as it ships from Bendigo does it not?

        • Geelong I believe.

  • According to Metacritic, it's a substandard GTA clone, but an okay attempt at a new IP, and I quote "At least Watch Dogs 2 will probably be pretty good."

Yeah I might sit this one out.

  • The link was working last night, and it still is this morning, but it can't find the game ont he next page (http://www.target.com.au/watch-dogs) has it been taken down?

Poo… shouldn't have hesitated and should've just grabbed it last night, stills aid it was in stock then. Wasted signing up for the newsletter otherwise for the $10 code. :(

  • My account details show invoiced and that it's been dispatched. I believe from Geelong so I might be picking it up tonight or tomorrow as im from Melbourne

    • Does yours say dispatched or 'ready for dispatch'? I'm from Melbourne also, my order details were slightly updated this morning.

      • It's on its way to my nominated Target, while tracking it with Toll, it shows origin as Truganina warehouse, 5 min from my place.

In my Target account the status is completed. Also got a finial invoice emailed but I think I'll just wait for the sms

  • Plenty of stock at castle towers Target. I didnt even order online. Just walked in and showed them this deal and they matched it on the spot for $54 for the ps4!

  • +1

Ended up buying it from EB, price-matching the $64 price.

I didn't realise 'pick up and collect' was actually 'wait a week whilst we ship stock that the store already has, then pick up and collect' :(.

  • Yeah didn't realise I'd have to wait for them to ship it to the store either before ordering. Mind you I've used Target online before and they delivered to my house within a week.

If the store has stock, I should just be able to pick it up. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be there by Friday.

  • Hi all, curious how people are going with this? Has anyone gone in and successfully gotten a copy from this deal, or even been contacted today about it being in stock?

    • I haven't yet.
I logged in to the target website and the status is "Consignment ID: <ID number> confirmed by warehouse".

No email, phone call or text. I placed my order on Tuesday.

      • Ordered on Tuesday too, got an email saying it had been dispatched today, called local and they said "you'll be notified when we have it".

  • Anyones order still says in progress?

    • I've got a tracking number for my order now, through TOLL

      • My order says 'Completed'. Called up my local, and have been informed that 'Completed' means the order has been paid for, processed and dispatched, but that the actual delivery will take up to 5 business days. No stock in-store at any Target near me either. Was the $54 worth it?… just.

        • Ok mine says invoiced now and have tracking for it with TOLL so looks promising i should get it next week :)

        • mine has just been updated to the same as you lazer

  • Mine has been dispatched from warehouse to my local store.

  • Mines dispatched with a Toll tracking number, ETA according to toll is Friday so should get it tomorrow.

  • Mine has been 'picked' by Toll.

Honestly if they are sending it by Toll to a Target store they may as well have sent it to my house.

    Hopefully it'll turn up tomorrow.

  • seems like an odd way to handle deliveries/pickups - no wonder they are losing money. Surely they should just offer free delivery to home, or live store stock/availability

    • This is what I thought it'd be. Plucked off the shelf or a wait if the store has no stock.

  • Mine arrived Friday, never got a text but it was available at the layby counter, as a bonus it was the ANZ special edition so I got a heap of DLC with it ;)

    • +1

They're all ANZ edition. The standard version isn't out yet

  • Picked it up today while there to pick up another order, didn't get the text, but the Toll tracker said it had arrived at the store on Friday. Came in a huge box, nicely wrapped in bubble wrap with plenty of padding inside though. Seems like quite a weird way to do store pick ups - they could save a lot of money and time by simply using store stock.

    • Hey, in the tracking does it say "Delivered"? Mine has "POD available online", and I'm not sure whether that's proof of delivery or something entirely different. :)

      • All the orders said ' POD available online' before I went to pick them up - didn't get the message to pick up the other two orders until today.

    • You'd think they would just pick stock in store and replacements come in their regular deliveries. Would be a cheaper way to do it. As I mentioned, if they are using TOLL to deliver to the store individually like that they may as well just have free postage to your home.

  • +3

Won't be using Target's click and collect again. Mine is still in progress. Nearly a week ago…
Should have just bought it elsewhere.

  • anyone else notice how massive the shipping box was? what a joke no wonder they are losing market share and money….

  • Still only "scanned into depot" at melbourne.

I'm curious how those of you who have it already are finding it to play? I'm hearing a bit of "Assassins Creed" similarities.

    • +1

Enjoying it a lot - but I'm a big AC fan across the board, and loved Driver back in the day.. A lot of people complain about the driving - no issues here, plays as you'd expect, it's not a race sim!! Oh, and map size, but you barely notice it, the city feels huge!

  • Mine was delivered this afternoon according to Toll. (Marion store, SA)

Nothing from Target yet though, guess I'll head in tomorrow afternoon to see what the go is.

    • +1

Seems no one has gotten a text

    • Never got a text but picked it up this afternoon without an issue.

As others have said, huge box.
Their click and collect system must be losing them a lot of money. Using TOLL to get it to the store must cost them a tonne. May as well offer free delivery to homes.

  • Just got my text

  • Got my text today too!

But i already picked it up saturday, as the shipping tracker showed it was delivered Friday.

  • Finally the toll tracker says "Delivered"
No email or text though. Will call them before I go over there to save time-wasting just in case, hopefully pick up today.. HOPEFULLY

  • Had no email/text either, but according to toll mine arrived yesterday. Just picked it up today with the order email. Did anyone else get the ANZ Special Edition? For some reason that's the version I received.

Edit: no worries - I think that's the default edition?

  • Fools rush in, I thought i could collect same day, bought it went to collect and got told no. 1 week later i had no word off target except for an email saying confirmed, called my store and they said it came in for me on monday. Just collected, and it was in a HUGE box, way too big, all in all I have to say I wont be buying anything from target online again!

But now i have the game. So im happy again.

  • Watch Dogs seems to be overrated…
