Anyone with RC experience want to chime in on if this is a good starter unit for someone with hardly any experience?
Would you be better off buying something like a DJI Phantom? I know they are like double the price, however they appear to be a solid enthusiast type unit. You probably wouldn't be wanting to upgrade from it so quickly.

I have a "Hubsan H107D" which I've had fun flying around the house and outside.
I would recommend buying a small quad before going for a larger model. You will crash your quad. No matter how good you (think) you are. Best to hone in your skills on a cheaper model first as repairs will easier on the wallet. Not that I recommend you get a Hubsan H107D. As the FPV is pretty much useless.
As for this model vs DJI Phantom. That's really up to you. Do some research to see the pros and cons of each. It's kind of comparing a Toyota with Great Wall.
