  For a 2km journey, they quote $20-21. There had better be free drinks included!

  OTOH, they do have good rates for virtual servers, and hosted Exchange.

  Thanks for that link. The quote I got was $78 - $100. First, I thought the fare was supposed to be fixed and second, this is $20 - $40 higher than a cab. Not seeing the point of a potentially dodgy lift that may not turn up costing more than a cab.

  I live and work in the initial soft launch area. $24-$29 to go 2 kms down the road. No thanks.
  $90 airport to home when a taxi costs me $50!! I may as well just get a Hughes limo.

  I guess us Perth people don't understand the cars, etc that they use. Also. That large of a price range is not really acceptable especially when uber promotes the fact that you will know your fare beforehand. If their website had more explanation it would be helpful.

    the only flat fares are airport trips so a range must be given due to distance/time-based rates

    $10 base fare + $0.68/min or $2.04/km (min fare $20)

    sample vehicles: holden caprice, bmw 740, ford territory

    as mentioned earlier there might be discounted promo rates in effect
