Another app with a stack of 5-star reviews, and free for a limited time. First time it's been free since release in Nov 2011.

    Other than photos what can this possibly be used for? It seems unlikely that zipping music will be of any use, and if anything will probably only make the file size larger.

    On Android where there's a concept of a local file system exposed to the use it makes sense. On iOS I don't really see a point to this kind of tool.

      Sometimes you download ZIP or RAR files on an iPad, or are emailed these formats. This app is able to extract those files, which otherwise need to be transferred to a PC.

      There are also times that emailing several files in a single attachment is a challenge on IOS, although this may have changed in the latest IOS7, this ZIP app saves a lot of time.

      Maybe coz not too many were willing to fork out the 9 bucks and went for the free one instead? Having said that, I can see 20 reviews for the Pro version in iTunes App Store via my iPhone.

      Click "All Versions" and you will 20 reviews… But I see the price as $.299, not as $8.99. May be the price for iPad is different
