        Going back to that thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48636?page=9#comment, looks like it did inndeed take about 4 weeks for them to start shipping, after promising earlier then continually delaying.

        The last deal got a lot more clicks/attention though, probably more sales too.
        If they only sold 1 or 2 hundred here, they really should just fulfil the orders as per normal rather than screw people around.

          Woww .. That was 3 years ago. They haven't improved yet?

          I hope Shopping Square does indeed process it earlier -I am sure they have stock- Just 2 weeks of difference will get a Good Brand-Name for them. I feel SS policy is to treat - low paying customer - inferior - to full paying customer. When it comes to Marketing/Brand Building — There is so much that Asian/Chinese/HK companies can learn from the West.

      I've asked them to clarify whether it'll take 4 weeks before they ship it or whether than 4 weeks includes shipping.

      They did say 'fulfill by 6th june' so i'm not sure what that means exactly.

      • It means it will ship when the rrp drops nearer to $518.90?

        • well, since they say:
          " (2) Customer has an option to request for the Full Refund before the order (at error price) has been dispatched."
          I can always request a full refund if the rrp drops anywhere near $518.9 in the coming 3 1/2 weeks, which I highly doubt it will anyway.

    They seem to be pushing it up to the PayPal limit. This intial 28 day delay, plus 8-10 days delivery time =38 days.
    They only need one extra "so sorry there will be an extra week before shipment" email anytime later to blow out the PayPal 45 day limit.
    If you do wait, I would suggest setting a reminder to open a dispute at ~ the 40 day mark just in case it turns out to be busted/fake/opened etc.

    Also did anyone find out what kind of changers these ship with? US plus is fine and good in a lot of Asia too but UK/Euro one is stupid IMO.

    FWIW, I have cancelled my order.
    CBF waiting and putting up with SS bulldust, plus upon refection I would rather pay more and get the LTE one once the price stabilizes, if I even get one at all. Reviews are a touch meh and its a hell of a high price for something that is losable and will be out of date in no time.
    I think I just got a bit excited and ordered because it looked like a bargain.

        • They promised it today. I told them that I would put PayPal onto them if they didnt.
          We will see. I will update here when it comes through.

        • Ok now shopping square refused to give me a refund unless I close my PayPal dispute with them. If I do that then I lose any chance to get PayPal to investigate.
          Hence I've escalated to a PayPal claim.

          In this case it's because they're calling to deliver in the regular timeframe. Problem is they have cancelled my order already but not issued a refund.

          Definitely don't close your dispute, you have nothing to fall back on if they mess you about. Only one shot with PayPal.
          Cant believe they are being such dicks. Why not just pay you? Seems odd.

          Just tell SS you are getting your money back through PayPal wether they want to refund your money or not.

  • I have also just emailed to cancel my order - can't be bother to wait. I will just stick to LG G2… Want to get Sub $500 phone with at least 16gb and mico sd expandable and better camera than current nexus 4.

  • They keep extending the "dispatching Date" by 1 day - DAILY — So On May 18 it was: dispatched within 1 working days. That is on the day or before 2014-05-19; then it became 2014-05-20 …. & now 2014-05-23

    Looking at other people experience, cancelling also doesn't make sense.

    I think I will directly but a Claim with Paypal - No Cancellation from SS - Just Dispute with Paypal.

    When Paypal investigates, and if I have received the Order; I will withdraw my claim; If I haven't received my order - Paypal would deal with them.

      Keep an eye on that 45 day limit they are moving closer to going past it.

      • Got my refund yesterday, had to threaten them with PayPal to get some action but got it back eventually.

        • Well what I did was set a date and email them every day saying "TWO more days until I do a PayPal claim", "ONE more day until I do a PayPal claim" then "LAST CHANCE you have until the end of today (22nd) before I am forced to open a PayPal dispute". They got it done that evening but sheesh major PITA.
          Perhaps try the same with elevating it to a claim. Ie say "RIGHT you have until ? day until I have no choice to elevate the claim" etc.
          But really, screw em. Why make it so slow and painful for their customers? They really should make an effort with larger amounts. No reason for them to have my $518 for 12+ days.

        • I've already escalated to a claim so I thought that would motivate them. Seems like they're just ignoring it.
          Surely it came be good for their reputation with PayPal?

        • I finally got my refund but it was only after i escalated to PayPal as a dispute.

          Shopping Square refused to refund me because i had raised the dispute, and said that it would be up to paypal to provide the refund.

          very poor form.

        • Guys - FYI Looking up at the Order Status - Says - "the order should be able to be dispatched within 1 working days. That is on the day or before 2014-06-07.We will send you a dispatch notification once the courier pick up the parcel"

          So, its already pushed to June 7th. I have a feeling that they picked Friday 6th because - Everyone would wait till EOD, and then there is a 3 day weekend, which would make sure people cannot followup till June 9th (30 days).

          Choice of date seems "Sinister".

          Per Paypal rules, One needs to Open the dispute by June 23rd.

  • Is it really worth to go ahead with that purchase now at that price. The current selling price must have been dropped to about $550 for a cheap import 3G version

  • Keep an eye on the 45 day PayPal limit guys.

    • which date is the deadline?

      • You have 45 days from when you paid with PayPal. After that you cant claim.
        If you havent actually received it before 45 days, open a dispute until you actually take delivery. Probably everything will be fine but I wouldn't want to have a $500+ item and no back up.

      • Well it arrived today, yay, can't say I'm too happy, the box was opened with a "random inspected" sticker on it, hmmm… when I opened it the front plastic had finger prints on it. I had a really close inspection to see if it was a refurbished or second hand unit but as far as I can tell it is a new one. I've upgraded from a sg3 and can't get used to having such a big phone in my hand just yet, I still prefer the old sg2 size. the new OS is a little strange to get used to also… hope everyone gets there ones shortly :)

        • customs perhaps? or it may need to have been opened to region unlock (not sure if g900h has this but i recall samsung introducing osme protections).

    They keep increasing estimated delivery date by one day everyday. Today it says 13/06/2014. Still waiting…

    • FYI - If one files a PayPal dispute, Paypal gives the Retailer 1 month to respond, before you can escalate it. So All-in-All, you are looking at getting your refund - 45 days after you file your Paypal dispute.

      That used to be the rule — till January, i am sure it's the same thing even now.

  • For mere $70 they had a hundreds of "Guaranteed" buyers who paid 45 days upfront — So they took our money and then placed the order with that money - Now when the prices are falling because of launch of iphone 6 —- ShoppingSquare is making a Killing now —- No other company had a Guaranteed customer. They are "Moving" stock in hundreds overnight now …

    For us Lets hope today is the day …
