    too bad it's the crazies…

    • You can always register and transfer…

      • Well then just register somewhere else that doesn't suck?

I would avoid buying any sort of service from crazydomains, they've got a long history of being useless - hundreds of threads on whirlpool..

    • I have found them ok. My brother also has his domain hosted. Sure they have a few mail outages, but I ring their service desk and get to speak to a real person in 5 or so minutes.. Acceptable

Interestingly the Ansego deal that charged $1/2 years — that's just using CrazyDomains reseller platform. Now we know what the margin is…

  • Is GoDaddy any better? They have (exactly?) the same deal.

    • Not really.

How do you register without getting an abn?
Webslice cancelled my domain as I used my expired abn. Too much hassle to get it reinstated. Any other way around?

If it's for something not-so-important, you could pick a random ABN (Coca-Cola?) from http://abr.business.gov.au/
Note: The company name you use may 'claim' your domain name - If they ever find out.

IANAL, Do the above at your own risk.

    • Yeah those ABNs are easy to cancel, hard to reinstate.

You can't register a .com.au or .net.au without an ABN, it's what makes the .au domains so 'exclusive'. So you won't be able to get this deal unless you have one. I do not recommend OzJD's suggestion.

And for anyone else interested, check out the ausregistry/auda website, they are the main wholesaler for the .au domain names and are the ones responsible for this $1 deal. they list companies who are offering this deal.
