Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard $85 for 5lb or $155 for 10lb GNC Victoria Gardens

40

Apparently they created a time machine and bring back their customers to the past.

Most stores are doing $95 for 5lb and $179 for 10lb for you Optimum Nutrition fans…I personally dont take Gold Standard, I only take pure isolates.

Obviously they still have another deal going which I updated but no one cares…

If you're nowhere near Victoria Gardens then http://www.xtremewarehouse.com.au have the 10lb bags for ~$167 delivered and the 5lb tubs for ~$93 delivered. Both come with a free shirt and shaker. In my experience they deliver in 2-4 days and I'm in Perth.

Have to use the code xtreme to get those prices.

    • Seems the same prices and inclusions as http://www.suppsrus.com.au/protein/333-on-100-whey-gold-stan…. When using code eBay. They used to be cheaper but upped the prices 2 months ago.
      Good find OP

    • How come the ON whey is so expensive now? At the start of year I brought it for $155 from Xtreme Warehouse (according to my order history, no coupon either), from what I remember they were the lowest price but the others weren't much but XW just chucked in a few extras

      • How come the ON whey is so expensive now?

Price went up a little less than 10%..
Used to be $28USD/2lb from vitacost (ex shipping), now it's $30USD/2lb.
However it feels a bit more than that atm :|

      • distributor prices went up

    Optimum Nutrition is best nutrition

  • This is the best chocolate flavoured protein i've tasted. Bulknutrients are alot better value in general but this chocolate tastes like it cant possibly be good for you!

  • I can't remember why I stopped using ON whey, I think because of the synthetic sugar flavoring etc.

    • i just bought their Natural range

95% the same as the Gold standard, but no artificial stuff, only stevia

And with the recent price hike on Gold, it came out cheaper when its normally 15% more expensive!

  • Do you guys buy it for the flavor or for the Macros? I personally just use 'No bull Proteins' they're 93g of protein per 100g and they're so much cheaper too.

    • I personally don't care about the flavor at all, mix it and drink it on ex. Have few cubes of chocolate afterwards if it's such a big deal for you, or ad malt chocolate, milo, nescoffee etc to make some taste to it.

Did you…did you just suggest eating a few cubes of chocolate after a protein shake?

        I think that's pretty counter-productive.

        • why would it be counter productive, what do you think protein drink is for ???

        • That would hardly be any different to getting a flavoured variant, and unless the chocolate somehow inhibits the absorption of protein from the shake it really isn't 'counter-productive' at all.

        • what? Protein drink is for obtaining high amount of protein for muscle growth (be it supplementing or the only source).

Having a look at my protein shake it contains 1.3g of sugar per serving (25g).

Now I look at a random chocolate bar I have (Nestle club dark chocolate) and it has 10.6g of sugar per serving (3 cubes per serving - which is the least amount for "a few").

I'm pretty sure the point of protein shakes is not to increase intake of sugar. And unless you are bulking, sugar intake should be limited, especially if it can be avoided (ie. not from eating fresh fruits etc).

You should buy it for being a more trusted brand. Nobull protein tasted great because it was just flavoured milk powder with minimal protein content. I wouldn't buy from a deceitful company like them no matter how good the price was.

wow…….. and I've bought 20kg of protein off them….. what's a good reputable store to deal with?

        • +1

Well Bulknutrients came out of that saga looking like good guys with proper testing done on their products and they are pretty reasonably priced. A big brand like ON is probably unlikely to bother or be able to get away with such behaviour so might be worth paying a little extra for.

        • Thank you. I've check their report of analysis, it looks promising.

          Cheers :)

I used to use their stuff as well got 3 bags tested by NMI was found to be low protein content, they denied and said I since I opened it so I could send a sample to test (was initially UNOPENED BAGS) they insinuated that I tampered with it.
So deceitful. They fixed it now but never again, go for Venom or BulkNutrients. I personally stick to wholefoods now.
