i have this combo.
i have no way of testing why/how but i find that the reception for the mouse can be a bit flaky and just moving objects around that are also in the vicinity will improve it at random
mouse is 1m away from the receiver.
probably faulty unit.. one of our guys deployed 6 months ago 28 units in a dental clinic @$33/each. All still working quite well. You might need to "RE-UNIFY" the mouse to the receiver. Download the software to do that.
I had the same problem (the receiver is plugged into the back of my PC tower) and I solved it by using the supplied extension arm (so that the receiver goes into the extension, then the extension goes into the back of my PC). It actually says to do this in the instructions (in fine print) if you plug it into the back of a computer. Now it's working 100%
