I'm confused how this is different than using the PrintScreen button on your keyboard?

    • It's way different from just using screen print - region capture is a particularly good tool. I have used the free version for a few years now, and the free version's features are good enough that I didn't really feel any need to upgrade. (It's not just a question of being a tightarse - although I am certainly one of those: I've upgraded some other things - LastPass, Diigo - where the upgrade feature-set was worth the price).

ok, so its no different to pressing Alt+PrintScreen on your keyboard then?? This sounds like bloatware to me. Seriously, its not hard to PrintScreen and then crop the image in Paint. Why install background software to make your PC run slower?

        • "Screenpresso captures your desktop (screenshots and HD videos)"
Would that mean you can record activities on the screen, not just screenshots?
That would make it VERY different from PrintScreen
BTW I use IrfanView for screen shots, absolutely free (although I send the guy 5 euros every other year).
It can do SO MUCH more, an incredible program for a 1.85MB download!!
It should be included with Windows :)

        • I looked at the features of Screenpressoand as far as I can tell it doesn't take videos. I believe it takes a series of screenshots at specified intervals and then you stitch them together to make a quasi-video

        • series of screenshots at specified intervals and then you stitch them together to make a quasi-video

          Pseudo stop-motion, Lego style.

        • it makes it pretty clear it takes full video and also allows annotation and editing within the application - more like camtasia or camstudio than printscreen
It is pretty clearly designed for making tutorials efficiently, if you have ever tried to do that with just print screen you would appreciate even a tool to streamline the workflow, though this seems to be a whole lot more.

  • Another option would be to install "Lightscreen" portable which is free and has different screen capture options.

  • or greenscreen

How do you actually download the s/w? I click on Download & it just refreshes the screen.
Or do you download the demo version from http://www.screenpresso.com/ & they'll send you the unlock code later?

Guys, if you want a solution already on Windows, just search for Snippingtool

    It's in LocalDisk>Windows>System32>Snippingtool.exe

  • It offers the ability to capture "HD VIDEO" that PrintScreen and SnippingTool does not offer.

  • It's the last day and I just got it. Good luck :D
