I was browsing through Comm Bank website for savings account and stumble upon this free Mcafee Antivirus for 6 months deal. On comm bank website,it says that its for customer only but I tried it and its for everyone. You need to register for Mcafee account and will need to provide card details but it won't deduct any money.

I know there are lots of good bad and best AV available but this might be handy for someone who likes Mcafree.

  I wouldn't trust mcaffee. I also wouldn't trust anything involving an automatic renewal.

  My experience with McAfee has always been awful, slows down your PC massively. Now I just instal the free MSE and never had an issue.

  This has a been a Comm Bank offer since 2012 I believe.

  It's a nice thought that they offer free AV software to their NetBank clients (despite the fact most phishing attempts proliferate via email or phone scams) but they could have picked something better than McAfee.

  Like Nortons this is a virus itself, makes your machine slow and useless. The cause for many requests for help from family that their machines are running slow.

  Avoid it and Nortons AV, use MSE as billy_bob said

The only worthwhile free AV. Windows MSE and McAfee are both garbage. In fact MSE is almost as good as using nothing at all so why bother letting it waste CPU cycles.

  I did this offer from CBA couple of years back and McAfee completely disabled my whole pc. It deleted key files and prevented me from accessing the internet. It was very hard to uninstall and I had to reinstall most of my other software.
