FREE Breast Check Shower Card from Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation

510

An innovative new educational tool, the Shower Card is an attractive and waterproof card, which is suitable for any bathroom. It explains how to check your breasts in 3 easy steps. And it's free! Our aim is to encourage women of all ages to be pro-active in self-breast examination.

The SBCF has distributed more than 20,000 of the cards to schools, chemists, doctor's rooms, medical centres and hospitals in the central Sydney region as well as at our events. The response to the cards has been absolutely fantastic! With the aid of a corporate sponsor, we are hoping to produce enough shower cards to distribute them throughout NSW.

If you would like a FREE Shower Card, please email your name and address to [email protected] (available to residents of Australia only).

Sponsorship of the shower cards is available. For more information, please contact SBCF on 61 2 8514 0659.

Refreshing to see the feminists are losing the neg vote battle on this comment.

    • 11 neg votes for muncan?

jeez folks, get a sense of humour!

It's OK, my humor may be controversial, but it helps encourage discussion of important issues; in this case: boobs

    • you're comment deserves a theme song…
I believe Tripod may have written you one ;)

  • Photos or line drawings? SWMBO might object to the former hanging in the shower.

im pretty sure most girls could get free breast checks anytime they wanted…

  • +2

Pretty sure I saw this hanging in the shower in my childhood in the 90's….not exactly new

    • It's free.

"It explains how to check your breasts in 3 easy steps."

    1. Go to bathroom.
    2. Take off the bra.
    3. Start checking.
  • Step 2 of the card reads: "raise your hands over your head". Reminded me of the Tune in Tokyo scene

I'm all for the boobs memes, but in all seriousness… Breast cancer can affect men too, so I'll support anything that either benefits or raises awareness for cancer

"NO Freeware or Free Websites". Probably belongs in forums.

    • +6

Ain't no one gonna see it in the forums.

      Boobies!

    • It was (OBVIOUSLY) a joke based on my views on double standards, lighten up people, how could health advice be on sale

with all the mcdonalds 'deals' posted lately the men will be able to start checking their boobs too

    • Already there unfortunately :-(

I know its plastic food, look up youtube of the guy who did time lapse video of a cheeseburger and fries over 2 years and it looked nearly identical to the day it was bought!!! WTF?

But I love the taste I cant help it.

But to put on my devils advocate hat, mcd has been in australia 40 years with no obvious evidence that the food is more poisenous or carcenogenic than other processed food. We are fooling ourselves if we think that the ham or baked beans we buy in coles is much better than mcd food.

The only safe food is the one you have grown yourself, and even then there are environmental pollutants to consider

I'm feeling peckish, I feel like a bbq cheeseburger combo for $3.95 to get all this negativity out of my head..

Edit: sorry, off-topic, went of on a tangent, must be hungry

    • But to get back on topic… While obesity is a factor in breast cancer, it is not a main cause (men and women)

Researchers point out genetics and environmental pollutants and food additives in that order, and then other factors such chance/luck/destiny/karma/conspiracy/vaccines last on the list

So the first we can't control, but the second we should try to avoid as much as we can (but leave maccas alone, just joking).

But then again how much can you trust what they say, see comment above about billions spent on "research" while cancer mortality is going up

  • I should just get one, cross out the bathroom and put my name on it and save it for my girlfriends birthday. Lol
