Good prices but I could never get into Shift and HP due to their terrible physics, even by arcade standards, and the insane AI rubber-banding. All of the cars just slip and slide too much, I've driven an M3 before and if it over-steered as easily as it did in-game, then they would have been recalled by now.
I also love how 200km/h collisions into steel barriers result in some scratched paintwork.
Though I will say I prefer HP to Rivals.
I've heard Shift 2 was a big improvement over the original, or at least I hopes so, I just bought it…

How did EA games end up on Steam?
If EA removed their games from Steam they would only ever be selling Battlefield and other such Origin exclusives. Nobody I know uses Origin except for BF 3 + 4.
There are lots of EA games on Steam, although they don't seem to be recent ones. I suspect there would be a correlation between the reduction of EA games released on Steam and a drop in EA sales/profits.
Man, it wasn't long ago when Shift 2 Unleashed was still $80 on the Australian Steam store…
