How do I get the Amazon Appstore on my Android device? To download these apps free now, download the Amazon Appstore for Android: https://www.amazon.com.au/getappstorenow Make sure you select Amazon.com.au during login.

Why isn’t the app free for me? If you have an existing Amazon.com account but cannot download the app for free, you may still be shopping the Amazon.com store.

How can I get the app for free if I have an Amazon.com account? To shop Amazon.com.au change your ‘1-Click address’ to your Australian address. Go into 'Manage my Kindle' and check that the ‘Country Settings’ show your ‘Current country’ as Australia. Just below that, it will state: ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com.au.’ If it says ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com’, then click the related link to select Amazon.com.au.
You do not need to create a new account and you can continue to shop for physical goods at Amazon.com. You can always change back to Amazon.com for digital products at any time.

  • Hmm can't seem to get the app even after changing country settings and 1-click settings. It has worked before. I even cleared cache.
Maybe they are catching on to this now?

EDIT: It works now. I think there is a bit of a delay after changing country settings, before you can see the app available.

  • Hi Marquise,

Apologies that you have had difficulties downloading this app.

Could you please check that on the 'Manage My Kindle' page your 'Current Country' is set to Australia and that it says just below that: ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com.au.’

If you are still having issues downloading the app, please provide us with your account details by clicking this link www.amazon.com.au/contactus and we would be happy to look into the problem further for you.

    Thanks,

    Lee

      Got it working, thanks.
Are you actually an official Amazon rep?

  • How do I get this onto my phone. Got it on my pc on my account but when I log in on my phone it says no orders.

  • Hi blue114,

Once you've got the app via the website, open up the Appstore on your phone. Click on the left menu and select 'My apps'. Click on 'Cloud' and then hit the refresh button in top right hand corner.

Now the app should appear in the list and you can install by clicking the 'Install' button on the right.

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • have installed app but don't feel more productive. Please advise.

  • Thanks Lee. It was in my cloud directory as you said. Cheers
