I'd personally list your product at $60 off, instead of 50% off an RRP of $399.

We know that you don't set the RRP, but if it isn't usually sold for that price it really isn't relevent.

      noted!

  • or this one:

    hmm…. decison decision …

  • These are the ones that went on sale at amazon at the start of the year, aren't they (or were they on sale at the same time as other Philips cans)? They were 50% off ($149) and can-wearers went bloody mad if I'm remembering correctly.

So with that in mind, $189 is a pretty great price.

/edit: might have been the X1, upon reflection.

    • They were the X1s: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/131271

But once you factored in the exchange rate robbery and shipping, it came to around $181.00 AUD for me. $189 shipped would still be cheaper than Amazon or any local stock.

These have smaller drivers (40mm vs 50mm) but they should still sound amazing. Though a 3rd-party 3.5mm cable may be required for maximum enjoyment as Philips likes to ship them with cables with a very high impedance, which distorts the soundstage. I got one for my X1s that definitely made a noticeable improvement.

The L1s come with two cables, one with a mic and in-line remote and one without.

      • BTW, both cables are fine on the Fidelio L1, it's only the X1 cable that has an unusually high resistance.

      • Can't believe I missed that one!

Those X1s look pretty nice, especially for $149!

        • They're incredible for $149. Extremely well-made, very little plastic used in the construction (mostly aluminium and leather), you could wear them for a day straight without even feeling it, the headband needs no adjusting and they sound like a million bucks. The retro aesthetic definitely looks better than your run-of-the-mil Shure/AKG/Audio Technica/Sennheiser ultra-geeky themed cans. It's a shame the default cable has such a high resistance because even that looks and feels so well-made.

          Okay, that's enough :)

Apologies, didn't mean to rub it in. But they're a newly-treasured member of my family now. I might even baptise them, I don't know, what do you think? :)
