EB Games is selling the Guitar Hero band kit for only $199, which would mean in comparison to a previous deal that the Drums and Microphone would only be $111
Though I'm not too confident that this deal is better than the other one.

How much is it usually to get the Drums/Microphone on its own?
Is it worth $111? I've heard half the time, it's hard to find anyone that would sing the mic.. most people prefer just to drum/guitar.
Last question, is it possible to play songs with 2x guitars + other instruments (drums/mic)?
Tempted for either this deal, or the $89 solo guitar deal and purchase other items separately.. or trade in the game for another game, and purchase the whole kit here.. so that gives me a total of 2 guitars, 1 drums and 1 mic.. So many options!
You can play with 2 guitars and it's fun…one plays bass and the other plays guitar.
Definitely go with your second option and get the whole kit…I'm not too sure if retail shops stock a lot of separate drums and mics.
Thanks for the insight Stix.
Just been doing some reading, is the whole price drop due to a rumored "Pro Kit" being released end of the year?
Any links for an article on the rumoured pro kit?
@hellrazorone: Just some forum posts I've been reading over at OCAU.
@robhung: Hmm, any links?
I've heard of the Ion Drum Rocker kit for Rock Band - pretty much an electronic drum kit modified for the game.
Haven't heard or seen anything regarding a new kit for GHWT. Besides, if it's true…it'd be expensive when it comes out. Your best bet is to grab this bundle I reckon…the kit is pretty good and expandable to a degree. I've added an extra cymbal for the hi hat and play with two kick pedals.
CRAP,
I paid $250 for this like 3 months ago!
i already have the game, any idea if i trade-in the game back to eb how much will that be?
the $199 price is v good, but i have been waiting for the rock band beatles n wonder if we might get any new instruments in aus?
I'm in your same shoes. Picked up GHWT disc for $40, but after reading about the poor peripheral reviews about GHWT and RB1 I wanted to wait for RB2/RB-Beatles so I can get the complete kit for that.
The new generation GHWT kit is a lot better.
How can you tell apart the old and new gen?
I read reviews that guitar is non-responsive/laggy - drum cymbals are non-responsive too, etc.
Rock band 2/Rock band Beatles (which is the same iirc) have minimal complaints on their gear.

After I sent my old one away, the new kit I received is so much better! The guitar is pretty good as well but I've already sent it away once as it kept double strumming.
@ShortyX: When did you buy your GHWT kit (with the old cymbals)? If I do buy the complete GHWT kit am I guaranteed the newer smooth cymbals?
Dirt cheap.
