I don't see the deal lasting, gopro themselves are pretty nazi about the prices of their products. if it is too low they tend to stop supplying the cameras to that shop etc.

When you click 'pay' it comes up with the error, the very very last step (shows up as in stock until you say 'shut up and take my money'.
freaking annoying. I was trying to get through the site and got the same thing.
What a stupid system - it makes you go through the entire checkout before telling you it's not in stock. And further to that it actually does a pre-auth on your card and presumably locks up money for some period of time (just got an email from amex right at the same time saying I'm approaching my card limit)
I'll have like 10-15 pre-auths on my amex then, as I keep trying just hoping it's an error (I should know better though ;)).

Rang their online customer help line. Stated system insufficient to handle demand. Item SOLD OUT.

Yes Hero4 will be 30fps 4K apparantly.
I guess it's too late for price matching…some shops would just check the website, some will take the extra step of ordering but stop just before payment, in such case they will never know. ;)

I called up at 1:45 due to the error at checkout. Have now been waiting for a callback to rectify the issue. In this time my session timed out and the status was updated to out of stock.

Don't worry man. There's quite a number of GoPro sales going on recently (though not as this cheap), may be GoPro 4+++ super duper titanium edition is coming. If true, you will be thanking yourself for missing out on this crappy 3+ black edition. :)
Except the new one looks to be a marginal upgrade like the 3+ Black was.
It's pretty sad that GoPro seems to be pretty stagnant and yet nobody else has come along to match the quality of their pictures.
I would have expected someone to make a bullet cam that is as good as the GoPro by now…particularly I would have expected something like the VIO POV to be upgraded by now, that camera with the quality of a GoPro would be ideal IMO.
Take a look at the Sony AS100V. Seems that the Sony beats the GoPro in a few areas, namely image stabilisation and sharpness. Not many reviews out though.

Managed to get my self one after the stock ran out. I rang up and complained that click and collect wasn't working (which it wasn't) they admitted that the dick smith stock isnt showing up and they were nice enough to do it manually for me. Really happy with David Jones for doing me a favour (they didn't have to)
Tried that myself. "I'll talk to my manager" turned into a big fat "Nope" pretty quickly.
Oh well, saves me $400. Guess I'll just buy a Mobius instead.

Anaconda did a Gopro Hero3+ black for me and as part of their price matching policy they beat it by a further 10% :)

Thats pretty goodI was told by DSE when i picked mine up the cost price was around $450
No sign of these go pros yet…..called customer service and they don't know when they will be shipped. I had a estimated delivery date of tomorrow to Perth…….hmm……something weird going on here….
My confirmation email says:

When your order has been despatched a parcel tracking number will be emailed to you, which you can use to track your order.I haven't been emailed a tracking number, so I guess mine hasn't been dispatched yet either.

I just sent them a message online, and a nice lady called me straight back to explain:There was a very large number of orders due to a promotion and they ran out of stock, so Dick Smith had to order more in to fulfil their orders. They're finalising orders tomorrow and sending them out via express post.
So apparently everyone [who managed to place an order] should be receiving them early next week.

Still no show for me. Have called Startrack and David Jones and both are investigating where it is. According to Startrack it was picked up and in transit. It was marked as overnight service with them too. ….disappointed so far…
Got mine 7/5, and email on 5/5 to say overnight delivery, despite phone call on 1/5 to say they were sending them out express delivery. Now I'm more frustrated with the GoPro's battery life ;-/
Recieve an email asking for the opinion of the product but still not yet recieve the goods. Ordered on 23, dispatch on 5 May. Estimate delivery date of 8. But now already 12……..

Got a call today from David Jones saying they are sending another one tomorrow….
Hmm I guess the driver at Startrack wanted the Gopro more than me….
Unless the first one turns up as well…..that would make up for it….
