CM Storm Quick Fire Stealth Mechanical Keyboard (CHERRY Brown) - USD $87.10 (~AUD $93) Delivered

40

It's my first post. :)

CM Storm QuickFire Stealth keyboard is usually around AUD $120-150 in Australia. I bought this (also cherry brown switch) a few months ago and I highly recommend it. Going back to my old work provided keyboard felt very squashy. You will never go back after trying a mech keyboard.

Note that this is a stealth version, i.e. front printed keycaps, so it will never wear off with extensive typing.
Great for touch typer or learning to become one. It is also entertaining when your colleagues have to use your keyboard and can't find the keys. ;)

  • Need an account to view product :-(

  • Intrusive popups forcing people to sign up to view their site? Nope I'm not buying their shit.

  • Can't even view the thing without an account? I give up already.

  • Just type in garbage like [email protected] and make a stupid password to view it :)

Still overpriced. These go on sale every month (literally every month) for about $60 USD.

  • -2

These can also be picked up in Sydney for $100 not on sale. Also the wait for Massdrop is quite long…

    • +1

where can you get this for $100?

    • +2

Where? I have not seen the Stealth that cheap ever to my knowledge.

      • -1

Amazon/newegg…. every month…. AFAIK its $75 with $15 rebate right now on newegg lol.

        • -1

Can you please link where it's on sale for $60usd?
I can't find it on newegg, they don't stock browns and the ones that are listed are out of stock, they're also $97 without delivery.

Amazon has it http://camelcamelcamel.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Stealth-Mechan… and it's never been $60. Even when it was at $75 that's without delivery, it ends up around the same price as massdrop.

          $59.99 3 days ago.

          http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/23r26u/keyboa…

$54.99 as of 1 day ago. just one example— this happens really often, and about 8 months or so it went sub-$50 at $49.99.

but by all means, feel free to worship this shitty massdrop.

This deal is for the CM Storm Quick Fire Stealth Mech Keyboard

        • I was more interested in finding out where the person claimed it can be found in Sydney for $100 when not on sale.

        • -1

Its the same board you child, the only variation is top-print vs side-print keycaps and control over polling rate, which is as useless as it is pointless.

        • Oh okay. Yeah that comment was nonsense, even on sale its difficult to get locally at that price.

        • -1

They're different boards, you even state the differences. It doesn't matter if you think it's pointless, it's up to the buyer and what he wants.

The (different) keyboard you linked comes to ~$105 delivered for me since the rebates page doesn't work.

If you want a keyboard and didn't care about features you can get the full sized keyboard version from PCCG for $88 delivered.

        • Blah blah blah. Its the exact same board, rebranded and repackaged. Initially they had different branding on the back (CM) but now they just use the same case for both boards. Its the difference between a cheeseburger and a hamburger with cheese— nothing. Except you seem to think that paying an extra 50% for the exact same board can somehow be a "bargain."

And yes, polling rate is pointless on keyboard. Its not what I "think," it's fundamental fact, especially considering the switch debounce time would negate any polling rate difference https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/terms.php#polling_rate and there is literally no point in adjusting it— no benefit whatsoever. 1ms is already default, and slowing it down to 8ms does nothing.. it doesn't even make it worse, because it's 8ms. I'd bet they haven't even changed anything in the controller: just added the extra flag in the firmware for modifying the polling rate. Absolute nonsense.

Don't tell me what I should and shouldn't get you child if you think front-printed keycaps are a "feature." You have no idea what you're talking about, so just let it go and move on.

          Its the exact same board

Yet the keyboards look different and some people would prefer that. Just because you don't care about the differences doesn't mean everyone will.

Except you seem to think that paying an extra 50%

Can you actually provide a link that has it that cheap?
If they really are that cheap why don't you post the deals?

Oh so a red Commodore with grey rims is completely different to a red Commodore with black rims? Minor visual alterations does not make it a different model, no matter how hard you try to justify it.

If they really are that cheap why don't you post the deals?

I already did just a few posts above— one for $54.99 w/ MIR. They go on sale every few weeks: try again in a couple of weeks and you'll have access to it.

        • Minor visual alterations does not make it a different model, no matter how hard you try to justify it.

Similar to what I said before, just because you think that doesn't mean everyone else will. The manufacturer slapped on a different model number and name and it costs more.

I already did just a few posts above— one for $54.99 w/ MIR

Comes to $105aud, the rebates page is unavailable when you select Australia and delivery is ~$30aud.

Some people think that the Earth is 4000 years old. I do not care what other people think. Some Ducky keyboards come with white keycaps, and some come with black keycaps. You are trying to suggest they are different models— they are not, and they will never be. Regardless of Cooler Master's branding.

Comes to $105aud, the rebates page is unavailable when you select Australia and delivery is ~$30aud.

There is no rebate anymore. The deal was over by the time you clicked on it. With delivery it came out to be $80 w/ MIR for me when I used a similar deal about 6 months ago, so I have no idea what you're talking about. But then again, based on this conversation, I'm not surprised. Bye.

  • The wait for Massdrop to ship can be up to a month. I wouldn't bother.

  • +1

Yeh this site favors the U.S as shipping rates to Aus make it no bargain/even cos more than local. Sometimes they have decent bargains tho, it all depends on how much for shipping.

  • anyone has any experience with this mob? locally this board still cost $139 + shipping, tempted to take the plunge and get this inside.

    • They are legit, if thats what you're worried about. I bought a good mouse from them that I havent even seen in australia for a good price. Took about a month to get it though, thats one of the downsides.
