  • Does anyone use Cove? are they any good?

Their pricing isn't that competitive - especially their resellers accounts - 5gb of disk space? even on the top reseller account? if you have the max of 55 accounts on that plan you would be giving each customer 90 megs!

    • I do. Consolidated all my web hosting accounts and domain hosting, now utilising Cove. The support /services provided have so far been good. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend them to any of my friends.

    • +1

Keep in mind that we provide Australian based hosting, not US based hosting. You won't find many AU based resellers offering more then 5GB disk space and, if you do, take in to account the cost per GB of RAID disks and backing up that data (some hosts don't even backup their data, believe it or not!).

      • Sorry but am I missing something?

        Look at webcity.com.au.

Are they hosting in the US?
They're offering 100GB of disk space and unlimited traffic.
I'm looking for a site to host my business so would really appreciate some info.

        • It is called overselling.

If every user tried to use 100GB of disk space and saturated their connection webcity would impose limitations or increase the price.

    • As has been said, Cove are located in Australia and use australian bandwidth and australian purchased hardware. This is more costly.

They also dont oversell like other companies do, it is easy to advertise 500GB disk space for $50/month however if every customer was to actually try and use their 500GB things would be a little different..

But, i am a happy cove customer :)

  • Nice offer.
Good people, service and overall an easy service for anyone starting. Good if you do work online and need to 're-sell' hosting as part of your service. Check out their forums or my blog (click on my profile to get it).

I first found out about Cove through OzBargain and a similar offer - I hope it benefits you, too. :)

  • They ROCK. I too have moved all my customers and personal hosting to Cove about 16 in total so far.
And all are running without a hitch. Great email servers and anti spam/ anti virus solutions.

I only signed up for a reseller account 2 weeks ago.
Wish I had waited 50% off every invoice for life is unbelievable.

Any change for getting the deal added to a recently ordered account :-)

They have great support and fast servers.

    GO COVE!

  • Thank you for the great feedback guys! We're certainly not without our faults but we do our very best and over 5,000 customers trust us with their websites and/or domain names so we must be doing something right. :)

  • I can't seem to get the coupon to work. When entering the coupon, the "50.00% Recurring Discount" shows, but with a value of $0.00. The total still takes me to the full amount of the hosting package. The coupon has reached its maximum 200 users?

edit: nevermind, just realized it doesn't work for the value plans.

Cove has been a headache from me. The only time I get emails from them its to tell me that 1. our data centre is down… we're SO sorry it won't happen again…
    2. our centre is down again! Our assurances previously were wrong… oh well these things happen…
    3. Our domain reseller is having some trouble… what trouble? Oh it turns out there they are locked into some kind of massive issue with the AUda about regsitrations… our bad!
4 - 10. blah blah blah more problems with Bottle domains etc etc

Frankly I'm sick of getting these emails. They need to get their act together.

    • This is all very old news. We have since moved data centres (back in April) and have also changed domain registrar (from Bottle Domains to DistributeIT). If you have serious feedback that you want us to look at, feel free to submit an eTicket to our Management queue as we would like to hear from you.

      • its all old news until it happens again… and besides, I had an email just the other day about another domain migration. Over my career I've registered literally 100s of domains, and the only email I get from them is a helpful one when it comes time to renew the domain name… with Cove I get one every other week, and its always unclear whether I have to do something or not. Domain registration is procedure that everyone else seems to get right without any hassles, I wonder why Cove is so beset with issues.

    • For the BottleDomain saga, I think auDA is also responsible. Unfortunately we not only have expensive bandwidth and overpriced web hosting here, we also have incompetent domain registrars and their governing bodies. It's also unfortunate for COVE. Well, they might be partly to blame because of their choice of unstream providers, but it's indeed out of their control…

  • i use cove as well for my host.
excellent service, technical support superb, highly recommended!

  • I had a lot of emails regarding Bottle domains etc etc even though I complained to Cove and Bottle.

Also, if you miss this deal don't worry.

Unfortunately for us on ozbargain, Cove pops up all the time ;)
