I was at Woolworths at Macarthur Central at lunch time and they had Lindt chocolate for $1 a block. At the back of the store between the yoghurt/juice aisle, and the meat fridges.

only two flavours Passionfruit Intense & Chocolate Crème and they have an expiry date of 30/04/2014
Enjoy

    Not a real deal

This sure is a deal, our local Woolies has the same best before and a 'reduced to clear' for about $2.30. Shame on them!

You waited 3 years just to say that?

Whittakers @ woolies are the best chocolate deal which comes up regularly 2 for 5 bucks. The chocolate is really good quality and has a nice cocoa content mix not too sweet or not to bitter. Cadbury, wonka and all the others are always cheap and too sweet and fake while this is the prefect balance between quality and price.

I think it comes down to personal preference, I personally don't much like whittakers and neither does my family but prefer the sweeter chocolates.

I wouldn't even call some of the cheap products "chocolates", they have have so much sugar in them and cocoa content is extremely low. Capitalistic profiteering is disgusting…I remember when cadbury made semi decent chocolate. Now they just have a massive range of sweet shit which they can't offload so it's on perma sale.

Agreed - Cadbury has totally ruined their chocolate. It used to quite good but now it's just sugar sweet solidified oil - hideous stuff.

Now, the Lindt excellence range (especially the 'A Touch of sea salt' dark) is a damn fine chocolate (for a supermarket brand).

I totally refuse to buy or eat Crapbury.

        • Cadbury dairy milk has barely changed since 1905, apart from their brief foray into replacing cocoa butter with palm oil, for which they were rightly bucketed.

Its always been quite a mild chocolate, mainly because there is so much milk in it, thats the whole "glass and a half" thing.

Really? Do you have a reference for that? It is possible my taste has changed, but I remember being able to enjoy and savour Cadbury chocolate but now I find it hideous.

I certainly seems to have changed in flavour and has become very sweet and no longer tastes like chocolate, glass and a half or not.

Whittakers is on special at Big W now @ 2 for $5. Seen at Mcarthur Centre, Brisbane.

OP is probably a neighbour of mine. Thanks for the heads up on Lindt. Big hit for easter!

They were $3 at Woolies Joondalup (Perth, WA).

All lindt blocks are on special at WoolWorths for $3 this week *except the "Hello Strawberry Cheesecake"

We buy this quite a lot when it's cheap. Passionfruit is simply horrible.

    • +3

      Then why buy it lol

      • Lol. Masochism requires some self-sacrifice.

      • +2

Lasts longer if no-one likes it.

        • Sorta like the Turkish Delight when you buy a box of Roses chocolate lol

I have a good deal on my homemade "Lint Chocolate"

  • How much chocolate in each block? 200 grams? I cannot tell from the photo.

    • +1

The ones I get are 100g so I'd expect the same.

100g of Lindt dark is worth about 20KG of Crapbury.

  • Aren't Lindt still sourcing raw ingredients from suppliers using child slave labour?

    • Thanks for the prompt but why not check yourself?

      Lindt-Ghirardelli

As one of the few groups to have complete control over every step of their production chain, Lindt group, owners of Ghiardelli said they have moved production to labor friendlier Ghana from the industry loser Ivory Coast.

Lindt says it will use independent 3rd party verification by Certification Capacity Enhancement, UTZ Certified, Source Trust, World Cocoa Foundation, African Cocoa Initiative and others. Also by 2020.
