Amazon's Book Description:

The idea of working from home is exciting to a good number of people because of the flexibility it provides. However, many don't even know where to begin.

In addition, a lot of information on the web is filled with heavy marketing while only including a little help to you. These info-packages promise that you will be rich if you just invest in their programs. These riches, of course, don't follow. If it were so easy to get rich, everyone would be rich!

In this book I will provide you with plenty of ideas on how to get started, along with online sources that can support your start.

With that in mind, these are the two main purposes of this book:
1. to present you with a collection of actionable ideas
2. to provide you with plenty of resources to help you get started

Opportunity 1 - write a book, and flog it on Amazon, from home about making money from home.

    • +3

by giving it away for free ?

      • +3

Common eBook marketing strategy - set a sale price, give away for a while so there are a lot of "purchases" - that makes it seem popular, then put price back or higher based on its popularity. Wait for the money to roll in.

Actually that is listed as Opportunity #6 "Write an eBook about something you know"… assuming the author knows something. Other opportunities include proofreading, designing a money making website, and selling photos you take.

    • You won't make money from a free book, but you sell a paid book by advertising it in the free book. Similar to the loss leader strategy in Marketing 101.

      • +1

Many do make money from (temporarily) free eBooks. Once the book moves up in popularity & gets good reviews (for a free product), the price is reinstated.

  • Warning : these ideas don't work for people who live in rental.

      Really?

The author's online "opportunities" of selling professional photos, proof reading, creating a website, writing an eBook, editing eBooks, etc require home ownership?

Could be done without anywhere to live, despite the title. An internet connection /free WiFi is about the only requirement. I've met people travelling the world with a laptop doing this type of work.

Other off-line services like dog-walking, baby-sitting, pet-grooming similarly require no home. But it doesn't take much intelligence to think up "opportunities" like those suggested in this eBook.

Actually, if you're making money from home, I believe you're better off renting as you can claim a tax deduction for rent, electricity, etc. If you're an owner/occupier working from home and were to ever sell your house, you would have to pay CGT on any earnings you made.

You should write an eBook on it :-)

      • You should film an instructional film series on it.

        • and free samples to promote it!

(Making money with instructional YouTube videos is in this eBook, if you need ideas.)

        • +2

that would be breaking the law and bad.

        • I'm not sure the filming would be the primary focus of law reinforcement interest….

        • well i guess you could say…
          puts shades on
          thats Breaking Bad

Does not deserve the (7 out of 8) 5 star reviews. Similar advice has been published for years. Some online ideas were around at the start of the WWW & AOL. Many of these ideas can be found in old books at your local library. Who doesn't know about baby-sitting, house-cleaning or dog-walking? And this is not the author's first eBook on this subject.

The major addition is the links to sites for further resources & updated marketing/sales methods (ClickBank). But you could Google those.

Still it's free & takes little time to read. But you won't make your fortune.
    About 2/5.

    • Naturally a book titled as such would not be complete without including some old school opportunities. I suggest you enter your comments in the book review as feedback to the author.

  • How do we know this ebook wasn't written by someone who is using the strategies of the ebook?

    • It was. Just read some of the online "opportunities" listed.
