Belkin Wemo Baby Monitor $39 from Harvey Norman (RRP $99)

30

Was googling for a baby monitor, and happen to stumble across this particular model selling at HN for $38.
The closest price i could get else where was $48 on ebay.

It was another $6 for delivery to WA or free pick up from store.
Reviews of this monitor seems pretty mixed, but under $40, i suppose it's worth a punt.

cut and paste from apple website summary:
"WeMo Baby monitor from Belkin works with the free, downloadable WeMo Baby app so you can listen to your baby with clear digital sound from anywhere. WeMo Baby allows multiple users to listen to your baby simultaneously on any iOS (v5 or later) device. You also have the option of upgrading to the premium app to receive cry notifications as well as access your baby's cry history. "

Looks like it's so crap that Belkin decided to drop the product:

    • yeah. doesnt look very promising at all.
the lack of video on the monitor kinda killed it for me.

not really good reviews too, just Googled, gotta pass this deal but thanks OP

    • yeah. i'm gonna keep looking too. deciced against buying it after digging around more.
anyone have a monitor they can recommend?

      • We use the Oricom Secure610. It's alright, reviews about battery life aren't promising though… we'll find out in a few more months I guess.

I very highly recommend the Babysense2 (Infant Breathing Movement Monitor) though, you can get them pretty cheap second hand.

Don't need video monitor for babies.

        • True about babies, we were given a video monitor (& thought that was excessive), but for a crawler or toddler, being able to see if the cry is just grumbling or standing up & needs help settling, is gold. We have a Motarola video monitor that I would suggest is the last one you would want to buy - it's so crap, but video really has helped.

  • Stick a picture of your face on it. This way you can watch the telly in the next room and not miss the important conversation with the missus. And the history feature is priceless.

  • Perfect for haunted houses.

Angelcare make good monitors with breathing sensors (with and without video) - a lot of people I know swear by them.

Video is a great feature to have. While not mandatory, it's one of those things that once you have it, you wouldn't be without.

  • I think I saw them for a similar price last time I went through JB hifi, but yeah, clearance stock due to severe crappiness.

  • I found this 1 which I'm yet to test still waiting on delivery, it's only been 3.5 months. I'd suggest ordering well in advance.
