    Let the bum wiping begin:)

Wipe that smile off your face

Problem with the cheaper, Woolies spec opposed to the $10 for 20 Coles spec is that the roll seems to contain fewer sheets. I think even the sheet themselves are slightly inferior.

Source - measured the thickness by seeing how it pushes against my dunny roll holder; measured the quality with my bum.

"the roll seems to contain fewer sheets"

Are you sure? 190 sheets, 11x10cm is pretty much the bog roll standard. You might be thinking of the Quilton double length rolls? There's also the eco-ply, etc. etc. it's just toilet paper!

      • Bog roll standard. no pun intended, I'm sure :)

    • Yeah, not sure on the quality of the exclusive to Woolie's size one. Little bits of toilet paper everywhere. Didn't happen with the normal size packs.

$0.38 cents per roll. that's cheap!

$0.002 per sheet! what is the average amount of toilet paper one uses per wipe?

    • OK so it is 3 ply. What is the cost for 1 ply? :-)

    • I don't about others but I use around 3 sheets per wipe, totaling 6-7 wipes or 2 meters of toilet paper each time I go number 2. So if 1 per sheet cost is $ 0.002, then 1 wipe would cost me $ 0.006 or $ 0.042 each time I go number 2. That's really cheap, not even 5 cents!

      • folder i presume? :)

      • Ozbargain life pro tip.
Put a kmart $1.50 spray bottle of water next to toilet.
Wet your paper, and get free value added wet wipes.
AND lower you number of wipes by half.

Lowering your cost to $0.021 per session.
        And a cleaner end.

        • Or save paper completely by installing and using a bidet.

    • actually $0.389 - was $0.375 in january :)

I didn't get it why it is $1 cheaper if use everyday rewards card?

    • +5

Because they are trying to push people onto the Everyday Spying and Tracking Program and lock in all consumers with manacles that take the form of NoRewardAtAll cards

      • which is silly coz everyone uses toilet tissues unless you prefer 3 shells or your very own fingers…!!!

        • +2

The analysis is a bit more sophisticated than that. They want to know who reacts to promos, what else they buy, when they buy it, etc. They also want to get you in the habit of always using the card, even if it's of no benefit to you (less than $30 at Woolies, for example). For this reason, I only ever give them my card if I'm getting points or a discount. Still gives them data, but not much of a profile (other than apparent Ozbargainer).

If you use credit card to pay they will still track your purchases

    This is funny…

Last toilet paper deal was posted by tightARSE, and this one by PISSlur.

I should change my username to have a nether region in it.

FYI - anybody interested to buy sustainable products, this product is not accredited by FSC - wouldn't trust the paper is responsibly harvested, i.e. they could be harvesting virgin forests, threatening wildlife.

Kleenex and Sorbent are both FSC - look for the green logo. :)

    • +4

LOL - apologies to the curmudgeon who neg'd me for providing choice to anybody who gives a shit (pun intended).

    • I thought most TP are made from recycled paper? How does FSC decide which trees are less worthy to live?

      • +1

Recycled paper is generally not a great wipe, due to the way the fibres wear down. It's great, but not the nicest. It's also unnecessary, IMHO. FSC tends to be plantation timber, I'm not sure what their criteria are, all I know is they're tightarses with who's allowed to use their logo. Quilton, for example, use another group called PEFC, who don't have such rigour, and seem to be an industry label to pretend they're sustainable, without having to actually jump through the hoops. Sustainability people tend to be a militant bunch, and I've never met one who didn't have good things to say about FSC.

        • Thanks. I hate Kleenex so will likely stick to Sorbent.

      • +1

More about which trees will be replanted, rather than leaving the ground bare

    • +2

These are my favorite poo tickets, but I also want to support sustainable products.

      Tough decisions ahead.

      • I know, they are a good product, but I find that Sorbent or Kleenex will be 30% or so off every other week, so I just grab a shit load (pardon the pun) whenever we're down to our last six.

        • EDIT - turns out it's just Kleenex, on closer inspection. For some reason they seem the same to me, but Sorbent hide their (PEFA) accreditation on the back of the pack, wheras Kleenex proudly have FSC emblazoned on the front.

    • +1

I'd prefer the Aussie owned Quilton brand :)

      • A reasonable choice, I just wish they'd bear the extra expense of proper accrditation for their product.

  • Not to be sniffed at, or is that on.

  • OzB choice of toilet paper..

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138640

  • Quliton or Sorbent. Both very similar in quality. This deal works out to be 38.88 cents per roll. Coles have the Sorbent 8 pack this week for $3 which works out to be 37.50 cents per roll. Save a few cents….

    • The Sorbent rolls are only 180 sheets. So the cost ratio is a smidgeon less favourable but still in Coles/Sorbent's favour.

  • s**t this is good

    • I was waiting for someone to take a swipe at that one :P

    • The toilet humour around here seems to be sinking ever further down the U-bend.

      • +1

I agree - the puns are all a bit crappy…

  • I didn't get them for $7!
