Good price for a very highly regard single malt scotch whisky. Aged 16 years. Ticket says it's $24.00 off. Not sure how long the deal is for. Some info:
Nose: More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a woonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish: Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla.
Impetus for finding the deal being my reintroduction, and subsequent enjoyment, to whisky via the Johnnie Walker Black Label deal last week:

Having tried a mix blend, I wanted to move on to a single malt. Was looking at a cheaper introduction, but stumbled across this deal. In my research this particular bottle kept appearing in recommendations as being one of the best (Oz Bargain's airzone included ;)). Seemed a bit too rich for my blood, but jumped on it when I saw this price.
Enjoy, and remember to drink it like a sir!
