  • does someone know where the point to pay button is? i'm in the transaction area and expended the woolworths transaction but no option to pay with points. Also can someone who managed to do this tell us how many points per dollar it turns out to be?

and on a side note. what do you guys use your points on normally? whats the best deal?

    • It's not in your transaction history, you need to goto the rewards area & there you can pay with points.

As for using the points, usually $100 Wishcard/ColesMyer cards. Since it's like cash. But so is paying off your purchases.

  • Plain English please.
    Edit: okay, that's better.

will this work only on Purely Amex cards or Bank Amex Cards will do as well?

  • Is it removed from AMEX website or it's just me who can't see the deal (missed Telstra DD offer too)
also, checked online $1 = 142 point approx coming up for all the transaction including Woolworth transaction :(

  • where is this button?? also how do you save offers to your amex now?

  • "Select and Pay with points is available only to Basic Card Members enrolled in the Australian Membership Rewards program"

    Is this the $80/yr one?

OP's instructions are a bit vague but if you go to the righthand side of your AmEx page under Membership Rewards there is a clickable link that says 'Use points for charges'.

If you click on this link it will take you to a Rewards redemption page which lists ALL of your transactions (not just WOW ones) and allows you to redeem points against each individual statement transaction at a rate of 1000pts = $7. (Which based on the deal posted above means that WOW transactions would convert at a rate of approx 1000pts = $8)

  • Basically we have two options:

Option 1. If my points are high enough (at least 6750 points) then I can claim a $50 gift card (Wish card, Coles group card etc)

Option 2. If my point are lower (but higher than 1000 pints) then I can claim from $7 statement credit by using the "Use points for charges" (1000 points = $7 statement credit)

I still prefer Option 1 (accumulate and claim Gift card when you have 6750 points) because each points ~ $0.007 (or every 1000 points ~ $7.41)

On the other hand, Option 2 gives you slightly less (1000 points = $7.00) but none the less its a good option if you don't have enough points to order a gift card

thanks. also you dont need to worry someone steals your gift card in the mail

    • actually Bappy, your Option 2 is incorrect. You mention the standard rate, not the deal rate.
Under the promotion, 1000 points = $8.24 of credit against a woolworths statement item.
This is the equivalent of 6068 points per $50, so is better than Option 1.
It is 10% better than gift cards.

  • does anyone know the best thing to redeem with amex pts (with the best points to $ value)

    • First class international one way flights are the best valued use of points on a strictly points to $ comparison. Whether you think first class is worthwhile, that's another issue.

  • not for qantad rewards member

  • +1

so how is it 15% off?

  • Is this an effective use of points compared to conversion to FF points for example?

    • I think it is. 1000 points is worth $8.24 with the 15% discount (normally $7).
If you use your points to get a gift card, you'll end up using 13500 points to get a $100 gift card, so your 1000 points is then worth $7.41.
So you're better off using this offer.

  • Doesn't seem to work with the Amex Qantas Discovery Card.

  • OK here is a tricky one…. is it better value to use my AMEX at woolworths and do this deal (I have around 13k points) or use my orange everyday 5% off card?

  • Orange.

  • Ok i used some of my points yesterday on this deal now i cant seem to get it work again (says to try later or similar) anyone have the same problem ?
