  • Has anyone used this? Would like a review! In the market for one, would you recommend?

    • Neighbor bought one few months before and reckons its good. I am also looking for something in/around $100 mark. Could not find any other good option. I think I am gonna get this one. Unless someone else can also point better deal for mop elsewhere :)

They are crap- owned one, gave it away. Pad kept slipping off so was forced to slide it sideways across the floor.

Concept ok, got one, and it fell apart within a few weeks. Unless they have fixed the design and made it less plasticky, even with the 2 year warranty would not recommend from our experience.

      • Cancel this - see below. The one I had was different.

  • In the market for one as well.
After some research online, I've narrowed down to Black& Decker FSM1630

I wouldn't buy, my one has leaked since we got it. The floor always ends up super wet, easier to use a mop :(

    • We had the same problem. Wet,streaky floors.

  • we have the x5o mop. bought on ebay, not from danos direct. I think they are around $35 each posted from memory (brand new)
We use it 3 times a week for the floors, the pads are velcro and they stay on.

Our first one died after about 6 months of using it 3 times a week. Current one is about 10 months now. My wife loves it, only issue I have with it is if it dies but really at $35 each i don't really care.

Just don't buy it from danos cause they sell it for way too much! I think the ebay ones come out of the same factory but are unbranded.

Can you show me these $35 mops the cheapest one I could find was a lite version from danos direct though..

Another one who agrees that they are definitely not worth the money. Pad doesn't stay on and feels flimsy as hell.

  • I bought one a few years ago from HN and I can tell you guys that it's a pos…really regret buying it!!!

  • Yes definately useless. We had one and replaced it with a $39 one from Godfeeys which was better. Still not convinced over a mop but tonnes better than this one at a fraction of the price

  • Interesting reading all the negative comments……
The missus has never experienced any of the issues in the above posts???

we have one here, used 1-2 times a week on tiled floors, about 80 square meters of tiles.
Excellent finish, no streaks on tiles.
(Of course its not magic and if the floor is putrid then expect a streaky floor)

after about 4 years of useing the first one, the plastic clip that holds the pad on broke, so eventually just bought a new mop on special from harris scarfe.

The kenwood steam mop that has the water tank on the handle is a total POS

Tried the godferys "cheapo", it was rubbish, leaked and has a short power cord, returned for a refund.

keep in mind that if you have "white" grout between the tiles the steam mop will make it "grey" over time as you push the dirty pad over the tiles.

    • Ah. The thing we had was different - it had the tank on the handle and was rubbish. As such, perhaps this one is better….

    • If the grout is sealed, it should be ok
