      And install……..

"To claim the Offer online from Symantec, the claimant must first install and activate their purchased Norton product with Symantec after 6:30am AEDT on November 25, 2013 and before 11:59pm AWST March 31, 2014 to enable automatic validation of their claim. The claimant must then visit the www.norton.com/anz/cashbacks site, and follow the instructions to enter a claim via the Symantec Online Redemption Centre. Online claims will be accepted until 11:59pm AWST on March 31, 2014."

    • How Symantec send the claimed rebate? Eftpos, check or any other?

      • Last time I got a cheque in the mail.

      • From the T&C's:

Every valid claim will receive a $20 rebate in the form of a cheque. Claimants should allow 6-10 weeks from receipt of their claim by Symantec for delivery of their rebate cheque by post.

    • Thanks OP, bought 2 at 4pm at Blacktown HN. there are approximately 20 secured boxes left. (each box contains 2 packs)

  • wonder what brand memory card you get

      • At nil cost, good enough for me!

  • Not trying to be greedy, but can i get 2 and get $40 cashback? My wife would need one as well….

    • +3

I think it's a yes, as one cashback per person and 3 cahsback per household

See Terms & Conditions for full details. The offer is open to Australian and New Zealand residents only. Employees of Symantec and their immediate families, retailers of Norton/Symantec products including retailer staff, agencies or anyone connected with the administration of the promotion are not eligible. Limit of 1 claim per valid full-version product purchased, up to a maximum of 1 claim per person, and 3 claims per household/registered business address. The $40 and $20 rebates cannot be claimed in addition to any other rebate or bonus offer on the same product purchase unless specifically stated otherwise in the Terms & Conditions.

      • Will we need 2 different transaction receipts or just the same receipt of 2 will do but claim put under different people names? I need one myself and my dad wants one as well.

        • They don't ask for invoice. One receipt should work.

        • just like the $10 profit deal previously. You install and register each box. I did it with 5 boxes back then, can be used on the same computer, just need to reinstall with a different product code. They mail you a cheque about 4 weeks later.

You might need to register 2 norton accounts this time since their t&c's changed

        • Ah ok, thanks heaps for your help guys!!!!!!!

  • on my way to HN to purchase now…

dont forget to add anything for $5 or more to use the $5 voucher

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?d…

    • +2

      What $5 voucher?

        • Is that the WELCOME5 code? Says promo code invalid… (and yes I added more items so the order was $25)

        • +1

you need to sign with them, and you will get a code in your email

        • Thanks, they've wised up and now give unique codes so you do actually need to sign up.

        • If you receive an error code trying to sign up - try selecting a different store.

Not sure why, but it doesn't appear to work with my local store (works with any other that I've tried)

    • +1

I'm pretty sure that $5 discount voucher only works for orders $25 or over.

      • add anything for $5 or more

        • +1

Oh i see. I thought you meant orders $5 or more. My mistake.

    • +1

Any suggestions? Can't find anything $5 worth while.

      • Buy 2 norton product make $5 profit.

    • Thomastown VIC just had to get the "spare" one from out the back even though I already had my Ready to collect e-mail.

Good luck to anyone else who had pickup there.

      • I have had the same issue with my last two purchases at Thomastown. That store truly has no idea.

  • Thanks OP. Awesome find!

  • In the cashback page, there are many versions mentioned, so which one is this one?

  • Chance to make a profit aswell

  • ordered, with free store pickup. Says I need to wait for some sort of confirmation.

    • "Thanks for your order! We'll email you as soon as your order is ready for pickup. Your tax invoice will be emailed separately."

      • I have been waiting 2 weeks for my last HN pick up.
Walked in to the HN store this morning and they have heaps of the item in stock.
Pretty clear they are just slack ar$es.

So if they take this long on this order i will miss the cash back.
I think I will be better off just taking my confirmation emails and go in and nicely talk to some staff. If that doesn't work, after first order two weeks late, causing a scene would be appropriate.

  • Cheers OP…just bought one online for free pickup!

  • Thanks OP. My first purchase from HN ever :)

and the boy becomes a man

      • LOL

        • Thought it was the other way around.

  • +12

$40 for 2, plus $5 welcome voucher = $5 profit and free 2 x Micro SD card. Very happy!

    • +1

ah now that's a smart idea! true ozbargain spirit right there!

    • What $5 voucher? I just signed up now, do they email the code instantly or?

      • I used this guy's voucher code. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138367

      • Yeh pretty much instant, I just signed up and used it

      • Give it a few minutes… they'll email you the code

        • Thanks, just the email with the code now and it worked!

  • +6

    Step 1
Make sure you have installed and activated your Norton Internet Security 2013 by registering the 25-digit product key with Symantec.

No way am I installing Norton on my computer!

    • install on ur mobile?

      • No chance, made the mistake of having Norton once - never again.

        • +7

Are people still complaining about Norton from 5 years ago?
It WAS really bad, but most issues were resolved years ago.

That is not to say you need Norton, just that it is not the pile of $hit it used to be.

        • Tell my neighbour that, after all the problems it caused this year.

    • Agree Norton is crap - I have an old desktop which I'll install it on ;)

      • Heh.. thinking of doing the same. I used the same old PC to get the TrendMicro cashback last year.

    • +4

      Virtual machine

    • But who is stopping you from removing it from your phone/PC once you get the cashback ;)

      • +3

        Try it, you'll see

  • Can you trust HN to have stock. Last thing you want is you go and there is none in stock?

    • +8

HN always has stock. No one buys from them

      • +2

hahaha. In that case staff might take it all for themselves ;)

  • -1

As usual nothing is for free. I asked HN if there is an annual fee to keep activated YES THERE IS.

    • so to activate first time you need to pay up to Norton?

      • +2

This install gives you 12 months of "protection".

If you want longer than this, yes you need to pay to extend, however in 12 months there will likely be another deal.

        • +2

Just found it too: 1-year protection included

  • +6

Looks like Class 4 - better than nothing!

  • -5

Just went to auburn HN store,
They had plenty of stock, I picked up 6 lol

    2 households, 3 people each

    • Hmmm.. according to the steps, you will need to activate all of them before you can claim your cashback, ie. you will need 6 computers.

      • 6 devices, or use vm ware

      • +2

You can register all using one unit. Used one computer from previous norton rebates

    • +1

Don't forget to get the cashbacks for every one of those 6 copies you need to install and activate all of those 6 copies before March 31st 2014.

  • Thanks OP. Too bad already claim it from jb hi fi a few weeks ago.

  • I already claimed $40 from previous JB's promo…do I eligible for this $20?

    • same.. as they said up to 3 people per household, or ask a friend to claim it.

The JB-hifi one was the Summer 2013-2014 promo

  • +1

Too bad i bought the $50 samsung 64gb recently, now theres gonna be a 32gb sitting in my ozbargain shelf.

    • You can always give it to someone who might use it.

  • Great deal earthy, cheers!

  • is this better than microsoft security essentials?

    • +8

Haha… You going to use it?

    • Well it comes with a free thing so….

    • +4

Let's just say that I don't think many people are here because they hold Norton in high esteem…

  • -1

Is this pretty much a free micro SD card and an antivirus, given you claim before the weekend's over? It sounds too good to be true.

Reading the T&C: Every valid claim will receive a $20 rebate in the form of a cheque. I hope you're all okay with that.
    Source

  • +1

Thanks OP. It comes with a Kingston micro SD card class 4. Plenty at Knox but customer sales going ahead of Internet orders because Internet orders take time to get allocated to individual stores.

It's 1 year protection for up to 2 devices

  • +1

    Purchased 2. Thanks OP!

  • +2

Will people really use this just because it's free? Even with a free SD card, I have to install it first to claim the cashback. There's no way I'm removing my existing security to put that on, then undoing it.

    • Going to use it on my Mac. For my Windows box, there are better options.

    • I download the PC version but end up installing the Android version. Only around 6MB. Funny thing, the first warning it came up with was Google Play Books for collecting personal data.

  • pretty

  • +2

did anyone got a confirmation email to pick up yet? I just don't want the cashback to be expired before it is ready to pick up lol….

    • +1

My order is ready for pick up in store.

    • +1

I received mine within an hour
