  The only reason power boards are expensive is because they come with insurance which covers all connected devices if the surge protection fails.

  This power board seems to offer none making it an expensive power board.

  A much cheaper alternative it to buy a single outlet surge protector http://www.belkin.com/images/product/F9H110vauCW/FUL1_F9H110…
  The plug any normal power board into it!
