It's a love/hate relationship.
They hate us but love our money, so they barely tolerate us because it suits them (at least the ones who arent trying to kill us or set us up). I dont speak the language, but I know when I'm being made a fool by tone and gestures.
It's dirt cheap, but there's a huge reason for that.
The photos in the mags lure you in, but are a lie. The beaches are so dirty that it looks like a tip. I'm not using that word in jest… it literally looks like a garbage truck has dumped its load on the sand and in the water, and it looks like that the entire beach. It's a sad sad sight.
I refused to touch the water, let alone swim in it.
Horrible place… dont waste your money.
People who rave about Bali are either blind, or are so bogan cheap that they just dont care because the booze is basically free.
Oh, and as an Australian travelling over there… it wont take you long to see a fellow Australian behaving badly and feel embarrassed to call yourself one. Our social acceptance of alcohol abuse is a blight on our society, and an international embarrassment. Typical offenders? Young dumb groups of Australian's, loud, rude… and you'd be surprised how many of them playing up are female. Bogan scum.
