Been keeping a lookout for this one, seems to be the cheapest price across JB, Kogan, DWI, etc.

you can buy the genuine Nikon 70-300 off ebay for about the same money

might want to make sure if this sigma has the focus motor or it wont work on the cheaper Nikons

granted both are toy lenses… you dont expect much good glass for $128

      The Nikkor 70-300mm isn't macro though…

The two lenses aren't doing the same job.

    • I think this sigma wont auto focus on D3xxx and D5xxx series.

  • I'm after a nikon 18-140.. Too expensive :(

    • And I'm after a 70-200 f2.8, also just outside my price range!

  • $400 is ok for that

    i dont like f3.5 - f5.6 though

  • Just be aware that is isnt even close to being a macro but has a close focus mode. In terms is lens quality the DX55-300 that is includes in twin lens kits is far superior of you have a DX camera.

For this money though it is a decent buy

Nikkor 70-300 VR is really value for money. Excellent lens.

  • Would recommend the sigma 70-300 APO DG HSM one if you are after this kinda price and range.

  • I have one of these, got it for $129 at teds when it was on special, i have it on my D7100 and i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT, the autofocus on it in macro mode is beyond a joke, for the time that it takes and the noise that it makes.

I can honestly say, if you want to get it go into JB hifi and ask for a deal, i've seen it for $129 in JB.

Very heavy lens and all plastic feel. You get what you pay for is what i learned. ALTHOUGH it was a great place to start macro and a great price to start.
