    Never heard of matousec, but http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386381,00.asp and http://download.cnet.com/ZoneAlarm-Extreme-Security/3000-802… have rated it 4 and 3.5 stars,

    I used to use free avast everywhere which is pretty good on most Pcs and moved to zone alarm after a crypto attack on a friends pc some time back, Hoping that the paid solution is better than a free one.

    So far so good. , no issues.

      I've been using around the same when it was just a brown and yellow colored application with few basic features. The software has significantly matured now and is one of the best in the industry.

    Use this software many years ago until it was acquired by an isreal company. I have heard they are spying on users. It is also bloatware and have slowed down my PC.

    1. Here is what Kaspersky has to say about their partner Zonealarm.

      So my question is why do websites rate Kaspersky higher than Zonealarm when Kaspersky themselves are vouching for Zonealarm?

    2. Zonealarm uses the Kaspersky engine for its Antivirus product! Kaspersky is rated as the best in the industry - so why does Matousec rate Kaspersky as the best and Zonealarm extreme security as poor.

    3. The "Getit now" link on Matusec may be affiliated links. Matusec may be receiving a commission for referring traffic to the respective Computer security providers. Somehow for all the hardcore hack leak testing - I suspect commissions may be a factor in skewing results. Comodo pays 50% commission- $40 as commissions for every sale - Kaspersky pays 20% commission i.e $20 while Zone alarm fetches only $10. So make your own judgement on why review sites prefer one over the other!

    4. I've been using Zonealarm for many years now, including reselling the same and this is just as good if not better than Kaspersky or Comodo. Try using the free version for a few days and test it yourself - all hacks who diss the software perhaps are ill informed or have their own vested interests in promoting their own reseller affiliated Antivirus software.

    5. Zonealarm is a serious contender in the Security business. Their Products are consistently rated higher than Norton and Mcafee and many other deals that you see online. It is definitely more value for money as many of the features that are found in Zonealarm come included and are not found elsewhere.

    6. Do your own research and comparisons from the right sources online and don't believe every negative comments you read on this forum, in my comment or elsewhere. People write reviews (pros and cons) out of their own self interest - because they ride on commissions through referrals. Just be mindful.

    7. For its sophistication, simplicity, and ease of use and price, this deal is freaking awesome. You get a Pro Antivirus + Firewall + Intrusion detection + AntiSpam + Antispyware + parental controls + Facebook privacy scan + online backup and heaps more at $6 per computer per year.

      Now refute Matousec's 34% very poor rating for Zone Alarm. Because I'm inclined to take their impartiality over a sales representative's opinion of his own product.

      Please. That's like saying any two-bit webmaster who's managed to pay for a VeriSign seal is running a bonafide 100% hacker-proof website.

      Just in the interests of disclosure, Kaspersky are partnered with no fewer than 86 companies from all sectors of the IT industry. Some of them are reputable. Others aren't. It's not a tangible arbiter of anything.

      You're like acting like being a Kaspersky partner makes you infallible.

    Zonealarm award winning technology is provided by Kaspersky Labs. Do your own research and if you feel this is not the right security software please look at alternatives that protect your PC as thoroughly as Zonealarm. A list of alternatives have been provided by other users in this forum. Just be mindful that many review sites rate some software higher not just because of their technical competence but also because the commission payouts for referring these softwares are higher.
