  • Do I need a Dinners Club to get this freebie?

    • not that I'm aware of. Just put in the code, fill out your details, then they send you a confirmation email.

    • no.

  • Signed up no hassles. No Diners card needed. Will be interesting to see how this works out. Thanks OP.

  • Yes worked without any hassle. cheers

I just signed up for this as my current Regus Gold Membership (also free from last year) is close to expiring.

I used the Regus Lounges a few times in New York last year, and I've used the Regus Lounge in Brisbane.

There are lounge areas as well as little work "pods" with power points and partitions. The wi-fi was always very fast. Free water, coffee and tea, but no food (at least in the lounges I was at).

    • +1

So how does it work? Just show up and show the card? Is it free? I tried to book one of Melbourne's rooms (there wasn't any lounges to select) on the website but it showed me the cost of hiring. Sorry, never tried this before so still confused how this work. Thanks

      • +1

This is only for the business lounges.

        Rooms/offices cost money.

  • any idea where to find the cost of hiring the meeting rooms etc?

  • +2

I've signed up with ServCorp for my virtual office, which gives me 3hrs a day of desk space. I then use regus to hop over to another building if I need to finish more work at a desk, then that's my day done!

    • Is that free?

      • It appears that he pays at least $150/month for his virtual office.

        • I pay around $300 a month for the location I'm at, which includes the address, phone and other facilities.

  • +1

It actually says it's a free membership for 3 years: "KOSTENLOSE dreijährige Mitgliedschaft". Good for those who need it!

    • +1

Can someone confirm if this is a translation error(Google doesn't always get it right), or this is really the case?

      • +3

I speak the language. drei = three

        • +1

In other words, this deal is significantly better than the previous deal. Clocking in at 1800 rather than $600.

  • +3

Anyone know if can bring guess to the business lounges? E.g. With a client or two? Never use this and so… a bit confused.

    Cheers,
    A.

    • +2

Your guess is as good as mine.

  • Question. Do they get pissy about you using Skype? Obviously, they do sell teleconferencing as a service so I would understand why, but it would still be nice to hop on for a quick call if the need arises without having to pay for it.

    • You get to walk into a compliment for your drink unlimited times for free use explained much sense I explain you good best… I explain you.

  • +1

I've now signed up twice in two days.

  • do you need to make a booking to use the lounges and cafés or just show up?

  • I've gotten the first email, has anyone gotten the 2nd with the temporary card?

I just want to make sure this one got confirmed.

    • Only got first email as well

  • +1

are ppl having trouble with Hotmail accounts? I'm not receiving the confirmation email

  • -6

    Unlimited walk in where??.
Where can I get free compliment drink?
What is use…plz explain I am noob

    • +1

a secret pathway will just magically appear where you can do unlimited walking and get complimentary and free drinks!

  • +1

Anyone got the 2nd email with the attached card pic ? Not talking about the 1st email with confirmation.

  • Excellent. Thanks OP. But there was a comment in the other Regis thread about these cards being set to auto renew.

Sorry. After reading further in the other thread apparently you have to give 90 days written notice to cancel your membership or it will autorenew. Don't know if we can just deliver it to one of their office centers or have to mail it in somewhere.

  • +1

    Thanks FlyingSpaghetti. Great Post.

  • Thanks Op. First time Regusser. Can't resist this save $600 per year offer. Are business lounges open on weekends?

  • Anyone got their temp. membership cards yet? :S i havent.

  • +1

just a note that you need to select your Australian State under to 'Bundesland/State (US Only)' after you've selected Australia as the country…

  • Note that it appears that membership is self-renewing.

    Regus.de general terms and conditions:
    http://translate.google.com.au/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=n&pr…

    See point 4.

    • +6

They don't have my credit card details so I'd like to see how they auto-renew?

    • If you read near the end, last sentence:

"For memberships, which are not paid monthly, the notice period is 90 days to the contract end of the current contract period."

It says it must be in writing. Heh, they have no payment details so they would just cancel it.

      • +1

They may not have your payment details but they have your name, address and agreement to their terms and conditions. They can still invoice you. And if you don't pay the bill I imagine that they could refer you for collection and get it put on your credit report. That's what I'm more worried about. Last year's ozbargain Regis deal was in July so I'm gonna put a written cancellation in before the end of March. Not sure yet where I have to send it though.

  • Trying to work out when my current membership expires (which I got from OZB last year) and seems there is no way to work it out….

  • +1

Cool, got an email instantly. Used Gmail.

    • +1

Seems most are getting the initial e-mail…it's the 2nd e-mail with the temporary card that is in question.

    • Likewise with Gmail. Not so with a Yahoo, etc. accounts.

Seems others are seeing this too.

  • +1

For a comparison of memberships see here.

Gold is only the 2nd level :)

  • +1

Confirmed by my German friend that its 3 years , Google translation is right

Go nuts :) before they expire it

  • Got myself and the wife registered.

  • Are guests of members welcome or is there a fee for guest entry?

Even with the saving, im wary with this if you are going to only occasionally use it. You do not have a Diners card and need to cancel before the 3 years is up and you are dealing with the German site.

  • +1

I cant seem to register?? has it expired?

  • +1

Hmmm signed up 2 different emails. Got first email, but haven't got a temp card yet. Is it dead?

  • So cancel 3 months before the 3rd year?

    • How to cancel? Do they understand english :P

  • -1

do you get free food there? if not probably not good deal

  • +2

strange but I tried signing up using Yahoo mail and didn't receive any confirmation email (did try checking Junk mail folder). But instantly received one once I put in my Gmail address.

    • Hotmail doesn't work either.

  • Need some HELP here please..
after entering the site it asked for "Diners Club Registration Key:"?
    What do I enter?

  • could this be a hoax? went through the links in the confirmation email….no site found ….

  • Is anyone using an email address that ends in .AU ?

  • +2

UPDATE: Got an email today from Regus requesting diners club no. for one of the accounts I signed up for.
I’m temporarily placing the deal as expired until we see if the current group of people receive any temp cards.

I suspect they may have cottoned on to a whole bunch of Aussies signing up.

Welcome to still try if you've stumbled across this page.

If anyone has any success let the rest of us know.

    • Was this after you contacted them?

  • +1

Just signed up thanks. Will see if they want a diners club no.

    • Got my card in the mail. Seems good so far.

  • No 2nd email yet. I've been really keen on this deal, missed it first time last July. Hope it comes through

  • +2

I could'nt wait for 2nd email as well and so I used this link and got membership setup straight way.

    RICS (UK Chartered Surveyors)- http://www.regus.co.uk/RICS
    Activation Code: MSREGUSBWGOLD

    • +1

      Thanks patrik.

Just signed up with this option as well and I was given a membership number but I wasnt offered a temp business world card. Have you had any luck going to any of the business lounges with just your ID for entry (as stated as an option without a card under the FAQs?)

    • does not work when I tried Now

  • +1

Interesting as I've setup my account by going through regus australia and requesting a new password.
Also asked a question to the rep on how to cancel and this is their reply
    My mail:
Message: How do I cancel after the free membership period.
As the terms and condition says I need to send the request in writing, 90 days before the expiry.
Where should this letter be sent to?
    The reply:

    Good day.

Your Businessworld membership is a partnership card and is valid for 12 months only. It is non-renewable and will be terminated effective March 31, 2015.

Should you need further assistance, please let me know.

  • I signed up Sat 15/03, and did not get a 2nd email ( temporary card). Since then, I came across articles about how regus was all scam, and its CEO under consumer fraud investigation, cancellation notices ignored, small prints in contracts etc etc. But note that these links were from 2009, and perhaps no longer applicable.
    http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12005215-post29.html

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/MARK-DIXON-REGUS-GROUP-HQ-MANA…

Nevertheless, I feel concerned. The 1st email said nothing about 3 years. So in 12 months, regus technically could auto-renew and demand subscription fees for next year.
Also, as Shardie commented, it is still unclear how to cancel.

If anyone else has any more info, please post. Many thanks.

  • Still no second email for the confirmation here, no request from Regus. Any news anybody?

  • Just a heads up.

I just got my 3 year membership card in the mail

Also got my 12 months preferred membership card

With my preferred membership, i got 1 FREE Day Office Voucher and 2 FREE guest passes

  • I bring good news! I just received my physical credit card sized gold membership card via postal mail! Thought the application failed as I didn't received any temp card via email.

And I activated the card via regus.com and it worked. Can't wait to use it.

  • got mine today. 2 actually, because I thought the first one didn't work!

Where do you see its for 3 years? I activated it, but cannot see expiry?

    • There's no expiry of any sort that's stated.

At least, there wasn't any invoice under My Account.

The welcome email I first received states,

      Product: Businessworld Gold
      Quoted Membership Fee: $0,00 annually
      Payment Method: creditcard
      Card Type: None

So we should be safe for at least a year.

Probably, it's internally recorded in their systems that it's free for three years. A quick call or email to their customer service may do the job — although I wouldn't do that. :)

The only three years I recall was on the website when I first signed up. And that's in German.

      • A quick call or email to their customer service may do the job — although I wouldn't do that. :)

Staff offered to email head office to check membership, but also suggested not doing it… just in case :-) Seems not to have an end date.

  • +2

What a surprise. Just got my card in the mail today. Didn't receive any email when I sign up the other day.

    • Same here!

    • same here

  • Received card here too… Would love to hear when someone successfully uses it in a lounge in Australia… Will have a go in Sydney next week…

  • +1

Finally got mine today too. Seems like they take a little longer to reach regional Australia.

    • Received mine today, all the way in Darwin.

  • Received my card from this offer and used it successfully in one of the Sydney centres this week! All good!

  • Page gone and other link…invalid code

  • +1

For review of some business lounges, see last year's deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/107055

  • Asked expiry date on this & last year's cards… 2070+ :-)
Staff said these cards don't expire - told to just keep using them!

    • hi, im a little confused, I have a 1 year gold membership from last year (thanks ozbargain) and it will expire in June. I'd like to continue being a gold member - at a discount or free if possible. Are you saying our card doesnt expire?!

      • +1

Strangely, that is what Regus staff at Riverside office in Brisbane told me. They asked who issued it - United Airlines frequent flyer - they said those don't expire.

After all, this scheme is to sell office space rental, so a free coffee & use of a desk (if available) would be seen as an effective promotion.

One way to know is to try after "membership" expires. If it does expire, I am sure we will be asked to join for longer - at our expense.

I have cards from this & last year's deals. I can't tell the cards apart. Only the membership number differs. Staff told me they are happy to offer me free use for the rest of my life or 2072 - whichever comes first :-) Now that's a BARGAIN!

        Enjoy the free coffees ;-)

        • Thanks for the reply, will do that - go in after my pass expires in June. I will be booking meeting rooms and office space from time to time on an ad hoc basis (very rarely) so would like to keep gold status if possible (without the monthly fee). Don't remember giving them my credit card details. Just don't want to be chased by debt collectors because I didn't read the fine print properly.

        • No CC details when joining, so no shocks.

But if they want the business & the card is really expiring, we can expect a sales pitch. I was surprised only contact has been emailed surveys each time I use a free lounge.

Free coffees without the SPAM - unusual on OB ;-)
