JB Hifi have the 64GB version for $459, this seem to be a good price. HN, DS & Binglee does not sell them.

Nice price, goes for $399 on the Dell website.
It has $50 off this week on Dell AU, so the saving is $50 off the current Dell AU price. Still a great price IMO
I just purchased one. At that price it is a no brainer for a full Windows 8.1 8" tablet with Office Home and Student included. I am going overseas with 60 days of this purchase, so I shall be able to claim back the GST upon departure, making the deal even sweater.
you can claim GST back as it is less than $300
you mean can't :)
You can as long as as you can get something else from Dell/eBay for $1+, as it has been extended to $300 multiple tax invoices from the same ABN. See discussion from the forum.
are you sure you can just make another purchase from ebay because as i understand it, ebay isn't charging you the tax and doesn't issue you with an invoice with ABN from ebay so IMHO it needs to be another purchase from dell only (whether it's through ebay or dell.com.au)?
I thought the tax invoice would be issued by Dell. At least for the items I purchased on eBay the invoice would come from the actual merchant rather than eBay. In this case the merchant is Dell AU.
Does this have HDMI port ?
Did you read the first comment ?
There is a very good side-by-side comparison between this and the Lenovo Miix 2 (USD$225 atm on amazon, comes to AUD$340 incl shipping)
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaTab-Miix2-8-Inch-Tablet/pro…Lenovo Miix 2 is 350grams while Dell Venue Pro 8 is 395grams
Also if I remember correctly, the Dell Venue Pro 8 does not let you plug in USB portable HDDs because it can't power them while the Lenovo can.
(note: to buy from amazon.com, u have to find a 3rd party store from its list of stores that DO ship internationally)
Would buy if it came with the stylus.
You can get a stylus from Dell, but I don't think it's as good as a proper Wacom or N-Trig one.
Good price.
As a comparison, there's 2 NEW Venue 8 Pro Tablets on the Dell Outlet going for $329 each…
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…Regarding the claiming GST back, this is the reply I get from Dell eBay. "Thanks for your email query, I am very sure we can process the invoice as $300, I will check up with our head office on Monday how we can do this. In the meantime I recommend you purchase while we have inventory available and we will get back to you on what we can do from our side to make the invoice $300. Letting you know in advance that the invoice does not come with the package, we either email it either soon before or just after delivery,"
Noooo… I paid $329 for one of these just last friday from the Dell Outlet!
Take great photos and shoot video with the 1.2 MP front-facing lens or video chat with the 5 MP rear-facing camera.
Arse-about.
Anyone recommend it? Had a play with it in JBHifi and once you get used to it it's not bad.. but not totally sure about it

This got rated quite well from memory. Here's a review from The Verge. Only drawback could potentially be lack of HDMI out, which I never used when I had a HDMI out capable tablet anyway.
