Not very Amaysim

Hey ozb's! I used to be on the sweet RedBull mobile deal which they no longer offer, so now I'm on Amaysim for my second month.

They not so Amaysim! And to make it worse dispite my last mobile service Redbull being on Vodafail, I got better service/coverage than Amaysim….boo!.

On Amaysim, Sydney Harbor/Opera house - no data service, Rhodes out West, phone service cuts out around major shopping center, WTH?

Can anyone recommend a good pre/post pay service that's unlimited but actually works?

Anyone got positive experience with Aldi? Boost? BendigoBankMobile? etc?

BTW moving to Melb soon, so hoping to hear that one of them is good round Melb CBD etc.

Cheers.

  • I had a similiar problem when I was with Amaysim down here is Brisbane, I have switched to Boost (Telstra 3G) know and haven't looked back since. Porting/Activation was super easy and quick and recharge is easy/fast online as well! Hope this helps!

    Never had problems with mobile signal on Amaysim here in Sydney except deep inside car parks. Remember that they are served by Optus infrastructure so it would affect lot of other MVNOs and people so you'd hear about it.

    Hello Mobile - on Vodafone - have a direct pricematch for Amaysim's 'unlimited' texts/calls plus 4GB data deal.

  • I still reckon Telechoice is good value. I've mentioned them a few times but I'm with Virgin myself. Friends on Telechoice have had no dramas and good Telstra coverage. Post paid only though with a 24 month contract unless you are ex Kogan customer.

    awesome guys! I check the link and found that there were similar unlimited deals with Hello, Aldi, Lebara.

    So far Lebara is ahead for me, lowest access fee for unlimited calls in Oz - under$30/mth plus I can call overseas on unmatched rates @ $0.01/min +flagfall etc. to UK.

    I might pick up a Lebara SIM this week before I go to Melb! :P

    Thx OzBargainers!!!

    Amaysim = Optus.
    Been with them for 2 years .. better than vodafail.
    Never had a problem. Using mobile at a lot of places as a wifi server for 2 laptops when travelling… great.
    Bang for the buck A+
