Awesome package for the budding guitarist! Retail was $249.95, someone mentioned this offer in the comments of another thread and we had some positive feedback from some happy customers, thought it would be worth sharing for those that missed the comment. Customers have told us that this deal is a really cheap way to get the guitar, as several music stores sell this guitar from anywhere between $168-224 (I won't mention any store names here but you can confirm with a simple Google search)

Package includes:
1x Rocksmith 2013 game (PS3 or Xbox 360 versions available)
1x Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar
2x Guitar Picks
1x Guitar Strap
1x Real Tone Cable

Pickup is available from our shop at 491 Forest Road, Penshurst NSW.

Shipping varies depending on your location, this is a bulky product so add to cart and type in your postcode to get a quote on shipping. If you're in Sydney Metro you'll be looking at $16.50 for 24 hour delivery (Mon-Fri).

Here's the other thread for those interested.

This pack includes the 2013 game. This price is under JB HiFi's cost price of $188.

    • I've heard the 2014 game that is out at the moment has better gameplay/sensitivity. Is it worth purchasing this older version?

      • +1

Buy this pack and the 2014 Game and cable for less than the RRP of the 2014 guitar pack.
You end up with both playlists (new playlist in 2014) and two guitar cables, one of which you may consider selling on ebay for ~$35

  • i have small hands. would "junior" guitars be suitable?

    • +4

This guitar is full-sized, although i think a little lighter than other Les Paul models. It's "Junior" because is the bottom-of-the-line model and has a single pickup as opposed to dual pickups. It's a cheaply made guitar by all accounts, but decent enough for a complete beginner (esp. at this price).

I think that most guitar teachers would probably recommend learning on a full sized guitar even if you have small hands.

      • thanks for the info :)

i was hoping junior = narrower neck. i have problems reaching some chords, like ones that stretch past 3 frets and/or require finger placement across all 6 strings i.e. F major

        • I have the other problem, hands are big enough, but fingers are too fat.

        • One thing to note is that Gibson guitars do have a shorter scale than fender styled guitars and the frets are closer together. Not by a whole lot but enough that my fiance can play a power chord on her Epiphone SG but struggles on her ibanez(which she bought first) due to the scale difference.

Why is the PC version not here?

  • I would so jump on this if I had the money to spare.

  • You can buy the Rocksmith 2014 ANZ Limited Edition – Guitar Bundle for an extra $30 at EB Games (https://ebgames.com.au/xbox360-163386-Rocksmith-2014-ANZ-Lim…). Only problem is it's out of stock and JB Hi-Fi don't stock the bundle anymore.

So… what was the point in posting that then?

      • -7

        to let people know moron

This is the kinda thing where you ask instore, I'm sure there is a few floating around at some JB hifis and they usually will get them transfered for you.

  • Damn you guys, this is sooo tempting. Asn an FYI, delivery to Melbourne (Camberwell) cost $21.90.

  • +2

plus 1 re the PC version. Any chance of a bundle with that version?

    • +1

another +1 for a PC version, would definitely get that

  • cheapest place to buy just the cable?

  • No PC version… So If I buy 2014 rocksmith on PC it'll work with the guitar and all?

    • Yeah, the cable + guitar will work. You wont have the rocksmith 2013 songs tho, unless u buy it on steam as well (it is on sale during the sales etc).

  • Any difference between the Rocksmith 2013 and Rocksmith 2014 hardware (i.e. the cable and guitar)? I see the guitar is a different colour but seems to be exactly the same, is the cable of any greater quality?

Thinking of buying this and getting the 2014 Rocksmith separate

    • Yeah, I'm thinking the same. The 2014 XBox version is still selling for $59 but no PS3 ones left.

The main difference apparently is the Sessions mode on 2014 and I that they improved the teaching as well.

      Also according to Wiki:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocksmith_2014

"All Rocksmith DLC songs are forward-compatible with Rocksmith 2014, but DLC songs released on or after October 22, 2013 are compatible only with Rocksmith 2014 and will not play on the original version of Rocksmith. As of January 7, 2014, there are 202 songs available to download from the Rocksmith store"

This might mean that having the 2014 version is probably the preferred outcome.

I'm still working out the numbers now.

    • It's the same guitar/cable.

If you want the 2013 songs in 2014 you need to buy the original on that platform + the transfer tool.
The 2014 edition is a big upgrade in terms of the modes/options/content, probably still want 2013 to import into 2014 for the songs though.

For the really cheap entry level, you could get a guitar from Aldi this week for $80 and the game and cable pack for ~$50.

    • Note aldi have an acoustic electric too for 99, which should work, but I've also noticed the game struggling a bit with volume on some acoustic electrics too.

I have both rocksmiths…the orig and 2014 version. The 2014 is vastly improved from the orig, i could not go back to playing the 2013 version. I play on PC and have my own bass, so i brought the original PC version with cable, and then got the 2014 version from steam. $10 'import' licence allows you to transfer all the original songs to the new version. maybe you guys can go that way for game consoles. the guitar definately seems like a bargain.

Oh my God, The Gamesmen are still a going concern! I remember you guys from the 80's and early 90's! I think I may have even ordered something once. Did you advertise in the local C64 magazines? I think that's where I remember you from.

That logo brings back so many memories. :)
