    • +1

a plate won't be ideal if you're buying it takeaway either :p

I was working at KFC once and a guy came in and ordered 21 pieces of chicken. I packed it up in two neat boxes, like we were supposed to. When I placed the boxes on the counter ready to place them in plastic bags, he said, where's my bucket? I said, sorry sir, we do not have the actual buckets anymore (KFC had recently decided to do away with the cardboard buckets after heavily advertising them in the 90s.) He said, I want my chicken in a bucket, like in the picture. I said, I'm sorry sir, but I don't have a bucket to give you. I felt his anger levels rising. I just wanted to say to him, do you actually want the chicken or the bucket?

I agree that it's nice to get what's in the picture. KFC was always very sneaky and included information along the lines of "packaging may vary." They have since brought back the classic, cardboard bucket but I don't work there anymore so I don't get to please customers by offering them a huge bucket full of chicken. Because they do look very cool and feel solid.

My tip is: if you are ordering around 20 pieces of chicken, have them packed them in separate boxes. They'll be lighter to carry separately, easier to distribute amongst a group of people and the chicken won't be stacked so high and hot inside, meaning the chicken pieces won't be as soggy.

      • some people just love being jerks to fast food workers :\

    • if it doesn't come in a plate what does it come in?

$9 and you can exchange the potato for chips

Damn that was a huge meal. Thanks OP.

  • $9 for 2 schnitzel is a good deal.

Their battered chicken seems now completely processed, its a shame really. Doesn't feel or taste like you're eating chicken anymore.

  • Anyone got any photos? or nutritional info?

    • I think it was 1800 kj for classic schnitzel with mash potato or 2700kj for parmy schnitzel with chips.

just got one. Although Im a big fan of red rooter roast chicken, this "snitzel" was anything but. A mega processed "chicken" patty is all it was. I ate it, but not buying that again. and $9 is a complete rip for a single serve.

Although Im a big fan of red rooter

      say no more ;)

    • thanks!!! was gonna get one tomorrow for lunch but will steer clear now.

I read your post this morning, but had already arranged to meet for lunch and use the coupon with someone. Really really average stuff. If it wasn't for Rooster Rolls I'd probably never go to the Rooter any more.

If you're charging club prices for a schnitty it needs to be at least club quality

  • 2 for $9 isn't so bad but I'd never pay $9 for one. It tasted ok - pretty much as you'd expect after reading the comments here. If it was real chicken it probably would have been awesome.

  • Yeah pretty avg and that is being kind. No way I'd pay $9 for one, if I want chicken parmy I'll just go and buy from the local pub/club, normally only few bucks extra than this with choice of topper and way better obviously. ;)
