Victory Motorbikes - Free Tank of Petrol and Free Night Accomodation

50

I spotted a really nice looking cruiser parked in the hotel I was staying in up at Shepparton last weekend and started talking to the Bikie about it and he told me about this deal. It has been posted here before over a year ago and the deal is still going strong (I hope they're selling enough bikes to make this worth their while).

I applied for this on their website back in 2012 December. Still waiting to hear back from them. I was genuinely thinking of getting a Victory, but have since bought a new Triumph Rocket 3.
Not negging the deal, but just so that you guys are aware.

You're still waiting to hear back from them? It'd be highly likely at this point (over a year) that some admin problem occurred.

Yet I get their marketing jibber jabber delivered to my inbox, so clearly the request was lodged. I even got a confirmation email stating my request was passed on to the nearest dealer.
        Oh well.. :)

    • Geez is t hard parking that thing? Does it have a reverse gear?

      • lol nope, no reverse gear. But never had trouble parking it anywhere. :)

    • My went into the Sydney Dealer, decided the bike he wanted and then organised the ride for that specific bike. Had to wait a month or so for a slot, enjoyed the ride and bought a bike

Good deal if you're a Comanchero on a budget though !!!

    • jv, you've done it again! and by 'it' i mean put your foot in your mouth

    • jv, you should know Comancheros don't pay for their ride :)

        That's why I said it's a good deal…

  • So how much is a motorcycle learner's permit?

    • -1

depends on which state you apply…

    • +3

From memory $78 in NSW. That also gets you a 2 day course and bike hire for those two days. About the best fun I've had for $78. Well worth it and because its subsidised by RMS its nice to know I'm getting something back from them

    • Some states limit learners to smaller engined bikes (less than 450cc is memory serves me)

      • +1

LAMS is pretty much in effect in all states now, 660cc or less as long as it has a power to weight ratio of 150 kilowatts per tonne or less.

I don't think it was a bikie you were talking to. No bikie would be caught dead on a Victory

    • I didn't know a Victory was a bike, I thought it was just the shop. Never set foot in it myself but have been to HJs there so many times

        I didn't know a Victory was a bike

          tldr

lemme guess, Victory Bikes, headquarterd in Milwaukee but made in China?

        • Interesting Photoshop job on their website.

        • Try made in milwaukee and iowa, and more american than a harley

        • I didn't know because:

          A) no one cares about victory
          B) I couldn't be bothered walking g in to the shop seeing as I own 3 bikes and don't need another
          C) I don't buy new, and usually private sale
          D) bikes are not porn to me
          E) If you haven't heard of it its probably not worth buying
          F) all of the above

Having read the first line of wikipedia:

          G) I don't buy American
          H) if I wanted an old fashioned low technology bike I would buy an Eastern European bike, on maybe an actual authentic old bike like an Enfield

        • You've never heard of Polaris Snowmobiles and ATVs??? Been round forever. They own a decent chunk of KTM too, surely you have heard of them?
Given they are an EFI, OHC, wet sump, brembo braked chunk of very modern engine on wheels (1.5-1.8L) I wouldnt call them old fashioned or low tech.

        • I have heard of KTM, but I am neither a farmer and don't regularly ski. My old technology comment is a bit facetious, and mainly a dig at Harleys, but also anything copying them. Also anything that big that doesn't have 4 cylinders is really not Hi tech in the true sense IMO

Also that still leaves 5 or 6 reasons doesn't it? :-)

        • I own two Royal Enfields. A 1971 Enfield 500 Classic and a 2005 Royal Enfield Thunderbird. I also own a 1982 Yamaha RD350 HT and a 1985 Yezdi CL2. Damn I love those bikes…. :)

Having said that, I feel more safe/confident touring around on my Rocket 3 and the Kawasaki ZRX1200S I previously owned. When I hit the 40s I'll grab a Kawasaki GTR1400 and join the Ulysses :)

        • You obviously like your bikes, I have an MZ Etz 150, Suzuki gsx750 1980, and a bandit 1250 2008. The bandit is easily the safest bike of the 3, between the grip, the power, and the abs (which is a must have if you ride in the wet especially on long trips) I think it's saved me a couple of times at least. Sometimes I would debate though if it's just the feel of the heavier bike, like when you pick up a heavy speaker, it feels like it must be better.

I have been wanting an Enfield for about 10 years and resisted, such a fun bike to ride and a good size for an all purpose, and figured that it should be pretty easy to work on, but at 9k for a current model it seems a bit steep for a simple 500cc (I got my bandit for under 7k 4 years old and it so much more bike for the money)

Not sure which club he was associated with…but he definitely had a name patch with his nickname on it…probably Ulysses would be my guess.

  • Tank of petrol for me is $16. :S

    So saving of $16 ?

    • Free night accommodation for two at Best Western?

      • Guess Turd puts a $0 value on the Best Western stay. Probably a fair call

        • I'd say, unless you have picked up at Club Sloppy, then it might be worth a few bucks if you did well for yourself

        • I used Fly Buy points for my stay at The Carrington (Best Western)…though I had to shell out an extra $55 as it is a premium property…pretty good for a country town.

  • signed up last time too and this time and still no phone calls received only junk emails.

    • Maybe it's because the time before that you didn't buy a bike ;) Can you go in-store and get the deal or do you have to sign up online (I haven't read the fine print - I don't really have time to go for many weekends away).

The other OzB angle if buying the bike is to haggle the price of the tank of juice and the night's accommodation off the bike price.
